ACE is an arena style eventing competition, run at 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 where riders can qualify for the Harry Hall One Club ACE Championships to be held at Aintree Equestrian Centre from 03 – 06 June 2027 (TBC) and the Harry Hall One Club ACE Scotland Championships held at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre on 21 March 2027. 
Qualifying competitions are to be run at 60cm, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm & 100cm levels. 

Qualifying competitions are organised and run by the venue, please abide by the venue’s rules and guidance when competing there. Competition results (rider name, horse name, results, contact details) will be shared with British Eventing to support Championship qualification validation. 

The qualifying period will be between 1st October 2026, and 7th March 2027 for SNEC and 16th May 2027 for Aintree. 

The Qualifiers are open to non-members, but everyone must be a BE member (minimum PAYG member) to be eligible for the Championships. Horses will need free BE registration. 

Riders must be 10 years or older. Riders competing in the U18 classes are not to have attained their 18th birthday on or before the date of the Championships. 

Horses must be 5 years of age and above to compete in all classes. 

Horses must be at least 132cms in height to compete in 60cm, 70cm, 80cm and 90cm classes and at least 142 cm in height to compete in 100cm classes. 

Horse eligibility for the Championships Any Grade of horse can compete in all ACE Championship classes. 
There is no limit on Foundation Points earned. 
Horse may only be entered into each Championship class once, even if qualified with a different rider. 


The same horse’s name must be used when entering both the Qualifier and Championships (no stable names). 

Competition Structure & Scoring 
Competitors will jump a course of 6-8 show jumps immediately followed by 8-10 simulated, knock-down cross country fences including a skinny and corner. 
There will be no more than 20 jumping efforts. 
The whole round will be timed. 
Penalties will be given as per the table below. 
The winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties. 
In the event of a tie the winner will be the one closest to the optimum time.
Optimum time is calculated based on a speed of 350m per minute. 
Time allowed is twice the optimum time. 
Stop watches are not permitted. 
Judge’s decision is final


Qualified combinations will be identified via email following receipt of qualifying competition results from the qualifying venues. Upon receipt of the qualification email from BE, competitors will have 14 days to become a member (minimum PAYG) of BE to retain their qualification. Qualifications will not be passed down. British Eventing reserve the right to increase the number of qualifying places from ACE Qualifiers.NB Emails used are those provided by the qualifying venue from the entries. 

Qualification is for combinations only. Substitutions will not be possible. If a combination is qualified for all 4 Championships, their Championship entries will be limited to the 2 higher level classes. 

Qualification is as follows: 
For 60cm, 70cm, 80cm & 90cm classes 
below 15 starters in a class > top 4 qualify. 
up to and incl 30 starters in a class > top 6 qualify. 
31 or more starters in a class >top 8 qualify. 

For 100 cm class 
below 15 starters in a class > top 6 qualify. 
up to and incl 30 starters in a class > top 8 qualify. 
31 or more starters in a class >top 10 qualify. 

Important 
British Eventing reserve the right to increase the number of qualifying places from ACE Qualifiers. 
Where qualifying classes are amalgamated BE will split results between under 18’s and seniors and the qualification criteria applied as two classes. This will only be possible when qualifiers advise BE of the riders age category (S/U18).

By entering this competition you agree that the information you have provided in connection with your entry will be disclosed to British Eventing.

Should you receive an injury as the direct result of an accident occurring whilst you are participating in any event organised by an affiliated event organiser, any medical reports relating to your condition will be passed to British Eventing. Any medical reports passed to British Eventing will be held on your records and passed in confidence to the UK Transport Research Lab for the purposes of safety analyses.

The competitor confirms that they have appropriate third-party insurance cover in place for the day of the competition for which they are entering.

The competitor agrees to comply with all the relevant BE rules as detailed in the BE Rules and Members' handbook, including those relating to vaccinations & BEFAR (BEF Anti-Doping Rules).

Terms & Conditions
· All entries and payments to be made online.
· ALL horses must not be under current investigation for infectious diseases including, for example, Equine Herpes Virus (EHV), Equine Influenza, Strangles.
· All Horses must not have been in contact with and is not kept on the same premises as a horse known to have or be under investigation for the neurological form of EHV, Equine Influenza, Strangles or Equine Viral Arteritis.
· All activity will be in accordance with the advice from the relevant national body, and ANY social distancing guidelines must always be adhered to.
· HORSES/PONIES MUST NOT BE LEFT TIED UP OUTSIDE UNATTENDED.
· NO spectators or filming are allowed from inside any of the warm-up or competition arenas. Please use viewing areas.
· You are expected to ride on your allocated times. If you do not do so, you risk being unable to compete.
· PLEASE CLEAR UP ANY DROPPINGS OR HAY IN THE LORRY PARK.
· Dogs are allowed but MUST be kept on a short lead at all times. No Exceptions.
