Open showjumping co-hosted by Thames Valley & High Wycombe Riding Clubs
Classes from 40cm to 1m, on a surface. This is running alongside the BRC Area 6 SJ Qualifier.
The classes are split into two types; 40cm - 60cm (classes 201, 202 and 203) are Club Showjumping classes. These are designed to encourage young or novice horses and riders into competition. The course will be made up of 8-9 fences, with limited fillers. You can have assistance in the ring - and do not need full competition attire. All double clears can qualify for a championshop. The full rules are listed below. These classes are £15 per class.
60cm - 1m (classes 101-105 inclusive) are Open Showjumping classes. These classes willl run concurrently with BRC Qualifier classes, referred to as the "Open Section". These will run under BRC competition rules with a full course, including a timed jump off section. Classes will run Single Phase, with all combinations not eliminated completing the whole course, including the timed jump off. These classes are £22 per class.
Please note – these classes are not open to BRC combinations entered into the qualifying classes except where they have already completed their BRC classes.
A £5 paramedic fee will be added for each rider.
Paramedics in Attendance, BSJA Course Builder, On Site Photographer and H&S Officer Appointed. Classes will be judged under BS rules, Rosettes to 6th place in all classes
We will endeavour to ensure that competitors times are as close together as possible but please be aware that if you are travelling with another competitor doing separate classes then there may be a longer wait. Please make a note of any timing requests on your entry and we will do our best to accommodate them.
NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY. PRE ENTRIES ONLY AS TIMES WILL BE GIVEN – NO EXCEPTIONS.
CLUB SHOWJUMPING (Classes 201, 202 and 203) – OPEN TO RIDING CLUB MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS
The course will be a simple with approximately 8/9 jumping efforts with minimal fillers
NON RIDING CLUB MEMBERS
Those not wishing to qualify may be led. All riders may have assistance in the ring (1 person only). If not being led the assistant may move around the arena with the competitor but most not jump the fences.
Coaching & encouragement around the course is permitted. If the judge feels that it is unsafe to carry on, they will ring the bell. There will be a generous time allowed after which the judge will ring the bell and ask you to leave.
All clear rounds will share 1st place.
These classes have no eligibility restrictions on either horse or rider but in the spirit of the competition should not be entered by combinations capable of competing at 70cm or higher.
RIDING CLUB MEMBERS WISHING TO QUALIFY – CHAMPIONSHIP AT BURY FARM in Sept 2026
Those wishing to qualify must join an affiliated Riding Club and acquire the 2 clear rounds in order to participate at the championships.
Those wishing to qualify must be clear at chosen heights in 2 shows within the qualifying period.
All clear rounds will share 1st place.
Combinations wishing to qualify must not have competed at a BRC Summer or Winter Championship with a jumping element in the previous three years. Onus is on the rider to ensure compliance with
the eligibility criteria to maintain the spirit of the competition.
Riders may move up a height during the qualification period.
At finals combinations may only compete at two consecutive heights. i.e. if they start out in the 40cm, then move up to 50cm and 60cm and qualifies at all three heights, they may only compete in
the 50cm and 60cm classes at the championships.
One assistant per rider is permitted. Where an assistant enters the arena to help a competitor, they may move around the ring and be alongside the horse but must not jump the fences (unless pony is being led).

RULES FOR ALL COMPETITORS
Hats to current BRC standard – please see the handbook. Correct riding clothes must be worn when mounted but competition dress is not required.
BCA charge the clubs if there is dropped hay or droppings left on pathways and in the lorry park.
PLEASE PICK UP YOUR DROPPINGS AND TAKE THEM HOME OR YOU WILL FIND A WHEELBARROW & SCOOP FOR YOUR USE BY THE OUTDOOR SCHOOL.
Please do not tie up to your lorry or trailer other than when you are tacking up or. Do not leave horses tied up to transport when you are not in attendance.
