It is a condition of entry that all competitors read and abide by the following rules:
Rules and Conditions
This event will be run under the Pony Club Eventing Rules 2025 www.pcuk.org
1. Entries close Sunday 15th June 2025. Ages taken as from 1st January 2025.
2. No telephone entries. Late entries taken if space plus £10.00 late entry fee.
3. No horse or pony may compete more than once.
4. The dressage test may be commanded in PC70 ONLY.
5. If eliminated in the show jumping phase you will only be allowed to go cross country, if considered safe by the show jumping judges.
6. Hats – must meet current Pony Club standards must be worn at all times when mounted with chinstrap fastened and tagged with the current pink tag. If your hat is not tagged please try to get this done before the event by your branch
7. Body Protectors must be worn for the cross country phase. The body protector must meet the BETA 2018 LEVEL 3 standard (Blue and black label). If using an air jacket a body protector has to be worn underneath. Any competitor using the Bodycage Exo-Skeleton body protector MUST notify the Secretary when collecting their tabard.
8. Spurs: Members wishing to ride in spurs at this competition must have achieved C+ Riding Test or The Spurs Achievement Test and must display a yellow spurs hat tag. Misuse of spurs by any competitor will be recorded and reported and may result in disqualification from the competition.
9. Competitors to print their own number via www.ponyclubresults.co.uk and bring to the event, two numbers are required for a number bib. Competitors must have a number bib. Please make sure the number is clearly displayed, if you are unable to print a number please make one, which clearly displays the numbers. It would be very useful if competitors could print an additional third number to put in the front of their lorry or car.
10. All competitors horses/ponies must have been vaccinated against Equine Flu in the last 12 months. Horses/ponies require 7 days clear from the date of vaccination and competing. Entries should be made in passport name. There may be a spot check on the day.
11. No stop-watches allowed in classes PC70 and PC80.
12. Hairnets to be worn. No jewellery to be worn.
13. Horses/ponies must not be left unattended tied to lorry/trailer at any time.
14. The course may be walked on Saturday 28th June 2pm-7pm. Gates will be locked at 7pm.
15. The Judge's decision is final. Objections to be lodged to the Secretary in writing within 30 minutes, together with a deposit of £10.00, only to be made by an Official Representative.
16. In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control £7.50 per competitor will be withheld.
17. Withdrawals after closing date will not be refunded unless a doctors or vets certificate is produced within 7 days of the event. For all refunds after closing date, £7.50 will be withheld per competitor. Withdrawals before closing date will be subject to deduction of £5.00 per competitor
18. Only BS compliant padded batons for cross country and show jumping can be used. See PC whip rule.
19. No litter to be left and no mucking out of trailers or horse boxes. Please take your litter home, pick up droppings and hay around your trailer/lorry
20. Organisers reserve the right to alter or cancel classes.
21. Horses/ponies must be at least 5 years old. No one other than the competitor may ride the pony at the event.
22. Dogs must be kept on short leads. Please clean up after your dog.
23. Horse and rider attire must be in accordance with the PC Rules 2025, if you are unsure please contact your Branch Eventing Organiser.
Legal Liability and Health and Safety:
a. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
b. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.
PHOTOGRAPHIC RIGHTS: Competitors and their guardians give permission for any photographic and/or film or TV footage taken of persons taking part in Pony Club events to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of The Pony Club and/or official sponsors of The Pony Club.
