Indoor classes £15 per class with an extra £3.50 per competitor for first aid. Outdoor classes £12 per class with an extra £3.50 per competitor first aid

 

Terms & Conditions

 

Welfare of the horse’s at competitions:
➢ No horse should be left unattended when tied up to trailer or horsebox. Do not tie up a horse to any fencing.
➢ Under the Welfare Acts, parents and/or guardians of any children aged under 16 are responsible for the welfare of their animal.

Conduct and Responsibilities of competitors:
➢ Competitors must consider the Health and Safety of other competitors, spectators and others working at the show.
➢ When riding outside of the ring the competitors must remain at a walking pace. No running or shouting.
➢ When entering any class, the competitors must abide by all the rules and guidelines set.
➢ Dogs to be kept on leads at all times.

Conduct and Responsibilities of Competitors in the Show ring:
➢ The judge’s decision is final.
➢ Blatantly dangerous and irresponsible riding or handling of the horse may result in elimination for the rider, and the organiser reserves the right to ask anyone to leave the venue who is deemed to be mistreating any animal. 


Conduct and Responsibilities of Competitors in the Warm-up ring:
➢ Riders must abide to all the rules of working in a arena while warming up. For example, passing left-hand to left-hand and jumping warm up fences in the direction of the red flag/wing being on the right.
➢ Horses should only be present in the warm up arena when warming up before entering the show ring and cooling off following their time in the show ring.

Competition rules and conditions: 1. The decision of the Organisers, Judges and Stewards will be final. 2. The landowners, organisers and officials shall not accept any liability or be held responsible for anything that may happen to competitors, owners, spectators, their property and/or vehicles, attendants, animals or any other person or property whatsoever, in connection with or arising from this event. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each competitor shall agree to indemnify the organisers against any loss, damage or legal action arising from any incident whether or not it is a result of the negligence of anyone assisting in running the events. 3. Any stallions competing must be reported to the Show Secretary on arrival. Usual blue ribbon or stallion discs must be worn at all times and under no circumstance are stallions to be left unattended. 4. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult of 18 years or over who shall be responsible for ensuring the safety of the child at all times. 5. All practice jumps will be flagged and must be jumped with the red flag on the right, only 10 horses will be allowed in the warm up at any one time. 6. All horses/ponies must be aged 4 and over. 7. Correct riding attire must be worn at all times. All riders whether competing or not, must wear the correct headgear with a harness properly adjusted and fastened. Skull caps must be worn with a dark silk. Hats must conform to at least one of: PAS 015:1998 or 2011, VG1 01.040 (2014-12) and must also be kitemarked; ASTM F1163 (2004a or04a onwards) and must have SEI mark; SNELL E2001; SAI AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards. Failure to wear approved headgear will incur elimination. 8. Objections must be made in writing to Secretary accompanied by deposit of £10.00 not later than 30 minutes of the said incident. The deposit will be forfeited unless the objection is upheld. 9. This show jumping event will be run under BSJA rules. With exception, regarding the amount of refusals allowed. Horse and rider combinations will be eliminated after the third refusal. A rider and/or horse fall will also result in elimination.

THE EQUESTRIAN YARD, ARENAS AND PATHWAYS FROM OUTDOOR TO INDOOR ARENA INCLUDING THE COLLECTING AREA OUTSIDE THE INDOOR ARENA ARE STRICTLY NO SMOKING AREAS.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
The Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, all officials and stewards. Any accident on the premises of Berkshire College, however small, must be reported and recorded at the Secretary’s office.

N.B Entry to BCA events does not entitle competitors to use other equine facilities, anyone found on the grass rides will be banned from ALL future events at BCA.
