Eligibility to compete: (all heights are approximate)
Class 1 (70cm) - Combination not to have run BE100
Class 2 (80cm) - Combination not to have run in a BE Novice
Class 3 (90cm) – Horse not to have any BE points (other than foundation points)
Class 4 (100cm) – Open to all
• Skull Caps to BE standards must be worn. Hats with a fixed peak are not permitted. • XC attire to be worn. Body Protectors are COMPULSORY. You will not be allowed to compete without a body protector and no refunds will be given • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times • Any competitor will be disqualified for dangerous riding, misuse of whips or spurs, or abusive conduct towards the judges, stewards or the secretary • The judges’ decision is final • All entry fees are non-refundable after the close of entries (26th February) • Stopwatches are not permitted • Warm up in designated area only - Practice fences must be jumped the correct way (red flag on the right) • The competition will take the form of a Show Jump course followed immediately by the Cross- Country section, there will be an optimum time for the whole course • The Show Jumping starts with a bell, after the last show jump there will not be a second bell but riders may circle before or take a direct line to the first Cross Country fence. • Penalties will be awarded as follows: First refusal = 4 penalties Second refusal = 8 penalties Third refusal = Elimination Fall of horse OR rider = Elimination Every commenced second in excess of optimum time = 1 penalty • The winner will be the competitor with the lowest total score. In the event of equality the closest time to the optimum time will take precedence. • No responsibility can be taken by the organisers for any accident or damage to competitors, attendants, animals, spectators, or their property, or vehicles of any description. By entering this competition, the exhibitor of any horse or pony accepts that Bicton Arena, the organiser or any of the officers of the show will not be held responsible or accountable for anything that may happen from any cause or circumstance whatsoever to any persons, exhibitors or their servants or to any animal or article or property brought into the show ground • All competitors take part at their own risk and are expected to exercise due care at all times and obey all notices placed for their control • No horses under 4 years of age may compete • Any complaints must be made to the secretary, in writing and within 10 minutes of the class finishing along with a fee of £10 • The organiser reserves the right to change / cancel a class, refuse entry and to change format of competition • Advance entry fee: £34 until 26th February, late entry fee £36 from 27th February. Entries close when full, a short wait list will be held (Entry fees include first aid cover) • Withdrawals: 100% refund before 26th February, no refunds after this date.
