Piaffe is a highly collected, cadenced, elevated diagonal movement giving the impression of
remaining in place. The horse's back is supple and elastic. The hindquarters are lowered; the
haunches with active hocks are well engaged, giving great freedom, lightness and mobility to the
shoulders and forehand.
This has historically been shrouded in secrecy as normally only the most highly trained horses get to
perform this move. We want this to change and bring this fantastic exercise to everyone, no matter
what size or breed of horse that you have.
This clinic is open to anyone at any stage. The first step is to encourage the horse to lift the back
which will lighten the front end. If an advanced horse already has an established piaffe but needs so
help tweaking the quality, this clinic can help with that too.
There will be a maximum of 6 riders in each session. We will aim to group riders with similar levels of
riding ability together.
