All current Covid-19 guidelines MUST be adhered to & this show will be run using The Showing Council Blueprint
Vehicles are not allowed on the showground before 7am
Competitors MUST abide by the parking stewards instructions. Anyone failing to comply will be asked to leave the showground, with no entry feed refunded.
Would all persons please be vigilant regarding Health and Safety - Horses and pedestrians must keep to their designated walkways
 

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

 

This show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes, whether members of the BSPS are subject to the constitution and rules of the BSPS including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS.

 

1. The Committee does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage, injury to any person, animal or property at the show.

2. Mounted exhibitors must adhere to horse walkways and riding in areas.

3. All dogs to be kept on leads at all times.

4. All entries must be paid in full when entering. NO ENTRY FEE WILL BE REFUNDED.

5. All prize money to be collected from the Secretary's office on the day of show.

6. This show is run with due regard to Health and Safety. Everyone in attendance must abide by the instructions given by officials.

7. Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats Nos. PAS 015 2011, VG1, (BS) EN1384 2017, ASTM F1163 04a onwards,  SNELL E2016,  AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards. MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted.  Hats should have a plain cover either Black, Navy Blue, Brown, Grey or Green.  Velvet covers are encouraged. The B.S.P.S. encourages members to have their hats tagged through the B.S.P.S. scheme or via the Pony Club Scheme.  Hat Tagging in B.S.P.S. classes is compulsory. (We are accepting British Eventing, British Riding Club and Pony Club tags)

8. No clearing out of horseboxes allowed on the showground and please take your litter home.

9 GDPR – Details of entries will only be retained for a period deemed necessary. Then they will be destroyed. Further information can be obtained from BSPS Head office.

 

This show is a qualifier for the Royal International Horse Show.  The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three ponies in RIHS classes will qualify. Please see rule 20 & 522 in the 2023 BSPS Rule Book. Owners and riders must be BSPS members before the date of the show to compete in classes with qualifications for the RIHS and animals must be registered with the BSPS except for Anglo & PB Arabs who must be registered with the AHS. N.B. THE R.I.H.S. QUALIFICATION IS SUBJECT TO CONFIRMATION FROM B.S.P.S. HEAD OFFICE.

 

BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year – This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year the 1st & 2nd placed pony in the following classes: Open RIHS Lead Rein and First Ridden; Open RIHS Show Pony classes; Open RIHS Show Hunter Pony classes

Champion of Champions –This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions, the first prize winners in all OPEN BSPS classes will qualify.

If the Champion has already qualified then the Reserve Champion will go forward. Only the Champion or Reserve Champion will qualify.

RIDERS OF STALLIONS

 

Riders must be 12 years or over on 1st January in the current year to ride any stallions not exceeding 138cms, or Small breed M&M Stallions.

Riders must be 14 years or over on 1st January in the current year to ride any stallions exceeding 138cms, or Large breed M&M Stallions.

 

2023 RIHS UK PONIES & HORSES INTERMEDIATE M&M RIDDEN & P(UK) RIHS AMATEUR RIDERS M&M FINALS

Owners must be Adult /Life Members, Riders must be current UKPH Annual Members and the ponies currently registered with UKPH before the time of entry in order to compete in these classes.

Open to Mountain and Moorland Ridden Stallion  (Intermediate class only), Mare or Gelding, four years old and over, registered in their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of Connemara, Dartmouth, Exmoor, Dale, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Shetland,  Welsh A, B,C or D.

The highest placed exhibit not already qualified within the first five will qualify for the UK Ponies & Horses RIHS Intermediate M & M Ridden. The highest placed pony and rider not already qualified within the first five will qualify for the UK Ponies and Horses RIHS Amateur M & M Finals at the RIHS Hickstead in July 2023.

Qualification will be verified by the office.

Uk Ponies & Horses Young Rider Classes qualify for the Gold Medal Series to take place at the UK Ponies & Horses Spring Classic 2024 at Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed competitors will qualify.  Qualification cards are not given out in the classes, however results can be verified by the office.

 

This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the Arena UK, Grantham, Lincolnshire on the 2nd – 5 th August 2023. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify
