  • Vaccinations, microchips and Passports - Horses’ vaccinations should be correct and up to date. All horses must be microchipped. Spot checks of passports may take place.
  • All Results will be displayed on the WVRC Facebook page, My Riding Life and the WVRC website, www.wvrconline.co.uk, as soon as possible after the show. 
  • Entrance/exit gate must be kept securely fastened.
  • A maximum speed restriction of 5 mph applies to all vehicles.
  • Horses/Ponies must remain in walk only when going to and from the Warm-Up or Competition Arenas.
  • All hay and dropping to be cleared and removed from the parking area and around site.  Tools are provided across the venue.
  • All dogs must be on leads at all times 

 

Payment Details & Event Fees

Class bookings must be made in advance through our Secure Online Entry System MRL, www.myridinglife.com. Payment is secure and it goes directly to Wey Valley Riding Club and you will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment.

 

Entry fees: £12 members/£16 non members per class.

Terms & Conditions

Rules & Conditions of Entry

    1. All events will be run in accordance with the current British Riding Clubs RuleBook. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that they comply with all BRC rules which can be found on the BRC website: http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/brc-handbook
    2. A ‘Riding Hat’, designed to provide protection and with a three point harness properly adjusted and fitted, must be worn at all times when mounted by anyone, whether or not a competitor, at all Wey Valley Riding Club events/competitions, including exercising, warming up and competing. Failure to do so may incur elimination. The British Riding Clubs standard for protective headgear can be found at: http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/brc-handbook competitors are responsible for ensuring their hat meets the required standard.
    3. The decision of the Judge is final.
    4. Any objection must be made in writing within 30 minutes of the incident, accompanied by a deposit of £20 which will be refunded if the objection is sustained.
    5. Neither the organisers nor the Venue accept liability for any claims in respect of injury or damage to any person, animal or property, however caused.
    6. The organisers reserve the right to amend the schedule as necessary.
    7. The organisers reserve the right to reject or cancel any entry made by any person or cancel any class (refunding any fees paid less £4 per competitor to cover administrative expenses).
    8. No entries will be refunded except in the case of injury/illness of horse/rider where evidence of this is supplied e.g. letter/invoice from vet, medical certificate, etc.
    9. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times whilst in the Venue.
    10. All competitors must wear the correct riding clothes whilst competing and exercising at competitions.
    11. Stewards instructions must be followed.
    12. Misuse of whips or spurs will incur elimination. Blatant use of bad language may result in the competitor being eliminated and/or barred from further competitions.
    13. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
    14. Horses must be kept to a walk unless in the warm-up or competition arenas.
    15. The organisers reserve the right to eliminate any competitor who, in their opinion, places him/herself or others in any danger or who fails to observe the rules in this schedule.
    16. Horses who are not competing are not allowed on the show ground without prior permission from the show secretary.
    17. All competitors and/or owners, must have their own insurance which includes suitable public liability cover.

     

     

    HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY 

    1. This Health and Safety Policy applies to all events run by the Wey Valley Riding Club.
    2. The organiser of each event has the overall responsibility for health and safety.
    3. All events are organised in accordance with health and safety legislation as applicable. All who have, to any extent, control of premises or site at the event  are responsible for ensuring that:
    • everything reasonably practicable is done to ensure the health, safety and welfare of those attending the event;
    • they conduct themselves so that they do not put themselves or anyone else at risk;
    • the access to and egress from the site is safe and unobstructed.
    1. Those referred to in paragraph 2 above include all officials of the event and members of the Committee.
    2. All individuals attending an event have a responsibility for their own safety and must act in such a way that others are not put at risk by their actions.
    3. Emergencies  
    • First aid cover is provided on site at all open events. Anyone requiring medical attention should report, or be reported, to the Secretarys office;
    • Emergency services must have access to all parts of the event site at all times and members of the public must not park vehicles so as to obstruct access;
    • In the case of an emergency, members of the public should contact the nearest official.
    • If emergency services are required, members of the public should report immediately to the Secretarys office;
    • Vet on call for all open events. Anyone requiring veterinary assistance should report to the Secretary’s office.
    1. Horses can easily be frightened and can be dangerous. Members of the public are requested to keep clear from horse areas and to avoid behaviour which
    2. might alarm horses.
    3. Emergency contact details and vehicle information MUST be lodged with the Secretary if you are competing on your own.
    4. Dogs should be kept under close control and on a short lead. The Dangerous Dogs Act now covers private land.

     Please note that photographs and footage may be taken throughout this event. These may be used by us for marketing and on our website and in social media. Please contact the event organiser if you have any concerns or if you wish to be exempt from this activity.

Venue Rules

  1. Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times and kept to the lorry park, all dog pooh & pooh bags to be removed.
  2. No horse is allowed to be turn loose in any arena or on any other part of the premises at any time, nor shall any horse be fed in any of the arenas.
  3. No horse owners shall be allowed to tie their horse(s) to any of the Priory Equestrian fencing or property.
  4. No lunging is allowed.
  5. Children must be kept under control and supervised at all times.
  6. No bicycles, skateboards, roller blades or similar items are to be used on the premises.
  7. Please respect the privacy of the owner/occupiers and refrain from entering the areas signed as private.
