Summer Camp at Poplar is meant to be a relaxed social environment which is aimed to be at the heart of the British Riding Clubs belief: Ride Together, Train Together, Compete Together, Have Fun Together. This camp is the ideal opportunity to do all of these things.
To make this camp as open as possible to all our members and non-members if we have not filled - we have a flexible training and stabling system where you can choose to do as little or as much as you like.
There is also excellent hacking at Poplar both on and off site to maximise the time away with your horse!
Stabling options:
Either 2 nights stabling - Friday/Saturday £110 or 3 nights stabling Thursday/Friday/Saturday £145. All stabling prices are inclusive of a straw bed and use of the facilities.
Non-members costs will be £15 more than members costs and non-members must hold their own public liability insurance - proof will be requested
Training options:
Friday – Showjumping/polework in small groups
Saturday – Polework AM and XC PM
Sunday – XC all day sessions
Option 1 – 4 training sessions - £80
Option 2 – 3 training sessions - £60
Option 3 – 2 training sessions - £40
Please remember XC training sessions can be more like an adventurous hack!
Rides will be in small groups of up to 4 of similar abilities.
Times for Friday’s lesson will be sent out by email the week before camp, all other groups/times will be in the club house on the Friday.
Timetable:
Arrive at Poplar on the Thursday from midday, set up camp, settle horses etc. On or off site hacking throughout camp, but please do not venture out alone and take a mobile phone! If you want to take advantage of the cross-country jumps ensure that you wear a body protector at all times.
Evening Activities – these will largely be dictated by the social distancing regulations at the time so a decision on this will be made a few weeks before camp. We are planning pub on the Thursday, pizza delivery for the Friday and a BBQ for the Saturday – these are all at additional cost.

You can buy hay and haylage from Poplar at a cost of £1 or £1.50 per net, settle your bill at the end of camp and pay direct to Poplar. Any other type of bedding must be provided by yourself.
