Show Information

The first set of fences will be in the show jumping arena and then the course will go across the field over a mix of knock-down and some fixed fences, and then end up back in the show jumping arena.

The penalties are as follows: 20 for a fence knocked down, 50 for a refusal, only two refusals are allowed at each fence and then you must move on, a total of six refusals around the whole course - elimination. Horse or rider fall – elimination.

At the last fence, there is an option to jump the joker fence, this is approximately 10 cm higher than the rest of the course. If you clear the joker, 20 penalties will be taken off your score. If you attempt the joker and knock it down/refuse it, 10 penalties will be deducted from your final score. Each rider's score is calculated by taking their time to complete the whole course (in seconds) and adding on any penalties for knock-downs and refusals and penalties added or deducted for jumping the joker. The rider with the lowest score is the winner.

Back protectors must be worn and hats must have no fixed peak. For the current hat safety standard please look on the British Riding Club’s website.
