Brackenhurst EC VACCINATION Policy from 01 Jan 2020:
• On arrival at the centre please bring your horses passport to the organiser of the competition before unloading your horse.
• An initial course of two injections for primary vaccination, not less than 21 days and not more than 92 days apart, are required before being eligible to unload your horse or the horse entering the centre.
• A first booster injection must be given between 150 and 215 days after the second injection of primary vaccination.
• Subsequent booster injections must be given at regular intervals of not more than 12 months, commencing after the first booster injection.
• The most recent booster injection must have been given within six calendar months +21 days prior to the horse competing/training at NTU Brackenhurst EC.
• The full course or booster must have been administered at least seven days before arriving at the centre.
• Any horses without passports and compliant vaccination records will be asked to leave the site, along with any others which they may have travelled with.
• The responsibility to comply with this rule lies with the owner/competitor who should consult with their veterinarian.

Warm up in 60 x 40m Andrews Bowen ProWax Surface Outdoor School
Tests will be indoors in Mary King Andrews Bowen ProWax Surface Arena
There will be two arenas running at the same time if entries suffice.

Refreshments: We do not have onsite catering and will endeavour to provide a refreshment van - please enquire on the Friday before the event if a refreshment van will be on site during the competition day.

Payment Details & Event Fees
Bookings in advance only: You can book using our Secure Online Entry System -
Payment is secure and it goes directly to Brackenhurst Equestrian Centre or you can call the office on 0115 848 5226 and enter over the telephone by credit/debit card.
Payment will be required by card at the time of entry.

Unaffiliated Dressage Entry Fee is £15 per class
Late entries MAY be accepted after the closing date (the Wed before the show date at 12 noon) if space permits. A surcharge of £3.00 will apply to all late entries. You must ring and confirm if late entries are being accepted before sending an entry.

Prize Information
Rosettes will be awarded 1st - 7th in each class. Championship Show Only – Rosettes to 6th, Sashes and Prizes for the Championship Classes.
We will also have rosettes for the highest placed Young horse (4 or 5 years old on date of show) and for the highest placed Young Rider (Aged 16 or below on date of show). Please ensure you include this information on your entry.
Rosettes and any prizes not collected on the day will be forfeited.
Dressage Sheets will not be forwarded unless a SAE is provided.

Special Classes
Qualifiers:
The March to July dates are affiliated to Equine Sports UK (ESUK) Grassroots Championships taking place at Arena UK, Grantham, Lincolnshire on the 6-9 August 2020. The three highest placed exhibits will qualify in each class.

The March to August dates are a qualifier for our Championship Show on Sun 19 September 2020:
Riders with scores of 65% or over will qualify for the championship classes on Sun 19 September 2020. Although the Championship classes will only be open to those who have qualified during the spring and summer series we will have non championship classes that can be entered by all and used as warm up classes for the championship classes.

Withdrawals/Refunds
Sorry - no refunds in any circumstances, unless a veterinary or doctors certificate is provided before close of entries. We will transfer your entry to another show date or it can be used in part towards school hire at mutually convenient time.

Terms & Conditions
ENTRY RULES:
General 1. Classes are pre-entry only and to be processed online or by telephone. 2. NO entries will be taken on the day for any competition or class. 3. All classes are mixed horse & pony and senior & junior but will have an open and restricted section in each class except the 15+ class. 4. Entries will be limited in all classes and are received strictly on a first come first served basis, although balloting may be necessary if too many entries are received on the opening date (if applicable). 5. Entries close on the Tue at 4pm before the show date. 6. The running order for each class will be determined by the times allocated by the show organiser. 7. Late entries may be accepted after the closing date if space permits. A surcharge of £3.00 will apply to all late entries. You must ring and confirm if late entries are being accepted before sending an entry and payment will be required by card at the time of entry. 8. Withdrawals: A refund of the entry fee will be given if notification in writing is received prior to close of entries. No refund will be given after the closing date under any circumstances.

COMPETITION RULES & NOTES:
Classes will be run under BD rules, with the exception of no stallions are allowed to compete in any unaffiliated classes.

Safety 1. Correct dress must be worn for all classes and competitions. 2. Riding hats MUST be worn at all times when mounted and we strongly advise that current BETA class 3 body protectors be worn. Riding Hats must bear a CE mark with either the BSI Kite mark or the SAI Global symbol OR SNELL E2001. A CE symbol on its own is not acceptable. The PAS 015;1998 or 2010 and the SNELL E2001 meet higher impact criteria and therefore offer more protection. Failure to abide by this hat rule will result in elimination from the competition as a whole. 3. Long Hair must be tied back and preferably in a hairnet. 4. No jewellery to be worn when mounted other than one ring and a watch. 5. Riders to pass left hand to left hand where possible in the warm-up arena. 6. No walking or halting on the outside track. 7. NO lungeing or galloping in the warm-up arena. 8. Cars, Lorries & Trailers must be parked in the allocated car parks. 9. Only 10 riders permitted in the warm-up arena at any time. 10. All accidents must be immediately reported to a member of staff / show organiser.

General 1. Horses & Ponies must be 4 years old or over. 2. Horses & Ponies must be vaccinated against the flu virus. 3. Horses & Ponies are not to be left unattended unless correctly secured inside the trailer/horsebox. 4. NO stallions or colts. 5. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a SHORT lead and under control at all times. Please clean up after your dog. 6. Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 7. Only horses and ponies pre-entered into the competition may use the warm-up facility. 8. Rosettes not collected on the day will be forfeited. 9. Dressage Sheets will not be forwarded unless a SAE is provided.

Conduct 1. Please respect our centre facilities at all times. We would appreciate it if you could pick up any droppings and litter from around the lorry park before you leave. Please do not skip out onto the car parks. 2. Competitors shall conduct themselves in a responsible manner at all times. 3. The organisers of the event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health & safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards. 4. Any competitor or anyone associated with a competitor who by word or act is abusive or discourteous to a judge, official or steward will be disqualified from the class and may be ordered off the premises.

Animal Welfare 1. Cruelty to any animal will NOT be tolerated. 2. Any competitor or anyone associated with a competitor who by word or act is abusive to an animal (including excessive use of whips and spurs) will be disqualified from the class and may be ordered off the premises.

Judges/Organisers Decision and Objections/Cancellations 1. The judges and stewards decisions are final. 2. If any person lodges a complaint, this must be made in writing, within 30 minutes of the incident, together with a deposit of £20.00 to be returned if the complaint is upheld. 3. Organisers reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any class or competition at any time. 4. If any class or competition is cancelled it will be posted on the website and/or on a voicemail message on 0115 848 5226. You will not be contacted individually and it is your responsibility to check before leaving home/yard.

Responsibility 1. Persons participating in or attending the centre, do so at their own risk. 2. It is a condition of entry that competitors agree to abide by the competition rules and any stewards/officials instructions. 3. By entering a competition at Nottingham Trent University, it will be assumed that you agree to abide by and comply with these rules and notes.

DISCLAIMER:

Legal Liability - The organiser, any agent, employee or representative of Nottingham Trent University do not hold themselves responsible for any loss, damage or injury (inc. death) to competitors, onlookers, spectators, their property, horse or vehicle in connection with any event. Condition of entry onto Nottingham Trent University property is that entrants & spectators shall agree to indemnify the organisers, agents, employees or representatives against any action arising from thereafter. All competitors must have their own personal and third party insurance and provide documentary evidence of such cover if requested to do so by the organiser. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, limit, divide or amalgamate any class. The decision of the judge is final.

Health & Safety - The organisers of these events have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health & safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must obey the instructions of the staff, organisers, officials and stewards.

VACCINATIONS POLICY: YOU MUST HAVE YOUR HORSES PASSPORT AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES IF REQUIRED FOR COMPLIANT VACCINATION CHECKING @ BRACKENHURST EC. NTU. Any horses without passports and compliant vaccination records will be asked to leave the site, along with any others which they may have travelled with. Horses must of had two injections for primary vaccination against equine influenza given no less than 21 days and no more than 92 days apart. Only these two injections need to have been given before a horse/pony can attend. In addition, if sufficient time has elapsed a 3rd injection must of been given no less than 150 days and no more than 215 days after the second injection of the primary vaccination. Subsequent booster injections must be given at intervals of not more than one calendar year, commencing after the first booster injection. The responsibility to comply with this rule lies with the competitor/client who should consult with their veterinarian.
