For registered ponies not exceeding 138cms, to be ridden by Junior Members, ages in accordance with Rules 77.12 & 77.13. This competition is open to all but for qualification purposes, those riders up to the end of the calendar year in which the age of 10 is reached are eligible to enter irrespective of Points achieved. Riders aged 10 years and over on 1 January in the calendar year must not have won a total of 350 Points in the 128cms Section and 700 Points in the 138cms section. Ponies 128cm & under are not permitted to enter the 138cm Section.
Pony Riders who have ever obtained points in the Gold League are not eligible for the Stepping Stones Final. Pony/Rider combinations who have ever obtained points in the Silver and/or Gold League are also not eligible for the Stepping Stones Final.
Once Riders have competed at or have ever qualified for RIHS or HOYS on any height pony they are no longer eligible to compete in the Final. Once a pony has qualified with any rider for RIHS or HOYS in the current year, then it is not eligible to compete in the final.
Qualifies for: Two double clear rounds to qualify for the British Showjumping National Championships. Two double clear rounds will also qualify for the Scope Festival.
Qualifying Period: 1st January-30th June for Stepping Stones. 1st January-31st July for Debut Handicap Championship.
Numbers to qualify: Those pony/rider combinations who achieve two double clears (subject to revision) will qualify for the Final. Those ponies who achieve two double clears will also qualify for the Debut Handicap Championship Final at the Scope Festival (those qualified to Scope, are asked to email scope.office@btinternet.com).
No rider may compete more than three ponies in the same section.

Qualifies for: Pony British Novice Championship Second Rounds. Qualifying period 1st May-30th April inclusive.
Numbers to qualify: Those ponies that jump a clear round in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off, in at least four Pony British Novice First Round competitions held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in a Pony British Novice Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A Rules (Rule 1 91 ). Ponies in the class must go in to the jump-off and go clear to gain their double clear round qualification. The winner of a particular Pony British Novice First Round competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition.

Qualifies for: Pony Discovery Second Round. Qualifying period: 1st May-30th April inclusive.
Numbers to qualify for: Those ponies which jump a clear round in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off in at least four Pony Discovery First Round competitions held in any qualifying period will qualify to compete in a Pony Discovery Second Round, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A Rules (Rule 191). Ponies in the class must go in to the jump-off and go clear to gain their double clear round qualification. Numbers to qualify: Those ponies that jump a clear round in the First Round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off in at least four Blue Chip Pony Newcomers First Round competitions held in any qualifying period will qualify to compete in a Pony Newcomers Second Round.
The Open Section: For registered ponies in Grade JA, JC, JD to be ridden by Junior Members. Registered ponies competing in either the Open or the Newcomers Section, ridden by Junior Members who have not won a total of 500 Points are eligible for double clear qualification for the Pony Restricted Rider 1.00m Championship. Riders who have accrued points on the Pony Gold League are not eligible to compete in the Restricted Rider 1.00m Final.

TEAM EVENTS ENTRIES TO BE COMPLETED BY ACADEMY
TEAM COMPETITION FORMAT
The day will consist of 5 team competitions with teams participating in each category. The team competition will be run under Table A. All teams placed equal first on faults after 1 round, based on the best 3 of 4 scores in each team will go forward to a jump off. The jump off will consist of all team members with the best 3 of 4 scores based on faults and time been combined for the overall team result. Lower team placing will be based on combined faults and time over 2 rounds.
ALL TEAM MEMBERS WILL ALSO COMPETE AS INDIVIDUALS
The individual competition is also open to an additional 4 riders in each class per Academy. All team members will also compete as individuals. The competition will be run under Table A. All combinations placed equal first on faults will go forward to a jump off over a shortened course. Lower team placing will be based on faults and time in the first round.
Payment Details & Event Fees
Entries made via any other method other than online will be charged at the higher rate (£2 extra per class) without exception.
Payment is secure and it goes directly to Cherwell Competition Centre.
You will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment.

For telephone and postal Credit Cards payments there is a 3.35% surcharge.
First Aid will be charged at £5 per rider per day.

Stabling Information: Yes
Overnight stables are available from 5pm on day of arrival until 5pm on day of departure. Day stables (if available) are from 8am – 5pm. All stables must be paid for at time of booking.
A clean stable deposit of £10 per stable will be payable upon booking. You will receive a refund on inspection of your stable upon your departure. If you leave the showground without having your stable checked for your refund, you will lose your stable deposit. All hay, droppings and wet shavings must be removed and clean shavings banked up at the back of the stable. Cherwell Competition Centre enforces a strict ‘NO STRAW’ policy, only chippings/shavings allowed on site. Stables are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Once booked, refunds will only be considered on receipt of a vet’s/doctor’s certificate. Any refund will incur a £10 admin fee per box, stables are transferable.
ALL WINNING TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS WILL RECEIVE PRIZES IN KIND
TEAM RULES:
● EACH TEAM CONSISTS OF 4 REGISTERED PONIES OR 4 REGISTERED HORSES.
● TEAM RIDERS ALL ALSO COMPETE AS AN INDIVIDUAL IN THE SAME CLASS.
● THE BEST 3 of 4 SCORES ON EACH TEAM WILL COUNT TOWARDS A TEAM
SCORE.
● 3 PONIES OR HORSES MUST JUMP TO PRODUCE A TEAM SCORE.
● IF ANY OF THE TEAMS ARE EQUAL ON FAULTS FOR 1st PLACE AFTER 1 ROUND
OF JUMPING, THEN A JUMP OFF WILL TAKE PLACE OVER A SHORTENED
COURSE. ALL 4 MEMBERS OF THE TEAM WILL JUMP AND THEIR TIMES ADDED
TOGETHER, THE BEST 3 SCORES WILL COUNT IN THE JUMP OFF.
● EACH ACADEMY SHOULD NOMINATE A POINT OF CONTACT FOR THE PURPOSE
OF THE TEAM EVENT.
● EACH ACADEMY WILL BE GUARANTEED 2 TEAM ENTRIES IN EACH TEAM CLASS,
HOWEVER IF ENTRIES PERMIT EXTRA TEAMS MAY BE ENTERED. ACADEMIES
ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT AS MANY ENTRIES AS POSSIBLE AND TEAMS WILL
ONLY BE BALLOTED IF CLASSES ARE OVER SUBSCRIBED.
● HORSES AND PONIES MAY ONLY COMPETE IN ONE TEAM IN EACH CLASS.
● RIDERS MAY COMPETE IN MORE THAN ONE TEAM BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE ON
DIFFERENT HORSES OR PONIES
● SHOULD A SITUATION FOR SUBSTITUTION ARISE, AN INDIVIDUAL RIDER MAY BE
SUBSTITUTED INTO A TEAM AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ORGANISERS.
INDIVIDUAL RULES:
● EACH ACADEMY MAY ENTER 4 ADDITIONAL INDIVIDUALS IN EACH CLASS
● THE INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION WILL BE RUN UNDER TABLE A.
● TEAM RIDERS ALSO COMPETE AS INDIVIDUALS IN THE SAME CLASS.
GENERAL RULES:
● CORRECT BRITISH SHOWJUMPING RIDING KIT MUST BE WORN WHEN
COMPETING. HARD HATS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
● RIDERS WILL BE CORRECTLY DRESSED WHEN WALKING THE COURSE.
● ALL BRITISH SHOWJUMPING NATIONAL RULES WILL APPLY DURING THIS
COMPETITION.
● THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES IN ALL MATTERS IS FINAL.
● JUNIOR MEMBERS COMPETING ON PONIES AGES MUST BE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH RULE 77.12, 77.13 & 77.1 4 CHILDREN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE ON
HORSES BEFORE THE CALENDAR YEAR IN WHICH THE AGE OF 12 IS REACHED.
