RRC – CODE OF CONDUCT
We are a family club and would like everyone to enjoy their visits to our shows and other
events. Therefore, we would like to make the following points clear for everyone’s safety and
pleasure ……
Please be polite. Swearing, bad language, rudeness and aggression will not be tolerated
under any circumstances towards anyone at any of our events, competitive or social.
We would ask that people refrain from the consumption of alcohol (except at social
events) and illegal substances; it is not conducive to the safe management of horses or
reasonable behaviour.
We all enjoy competing, more so if we win. Please remember that in awarding placings,
Judges are expressing their opinion of the horses/ponies in the ring at that time and their
decision is final unless there is procedural error which may be dealt with through the
usual appeals process. Abusive behaviour towards judges and other officials will not be
tolerated.
Cars must not be parked in the horsebox area unless towing a horse trailer.
Anyone mounted must be wearing an approved safety hat and we strongly recommend
those handling horse from the ground do so too.
Warming up must be done in the designated warm up area, not in the car park of public
areas. This applies to both ridden and in-hand competitors.
On the grounds of safety and good etiquette, please be aware of others around you,
whether mounted or in-hand, both around the showground and in the rings and allow
them appropriate space. There should be no cutting across or over riding of other
competitors.
Please take all rubbish home or use the bins provided.
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in being asked to leave the
showground / event without notice or refund of fees. Where the breach relates to the
suspected use of alcohol or other substances, the decision will be made by a minimum of
two Committee members who concur there are reasonable grounds to suspect the person
is under the influence.
