Show Information
The course is made up of SJ & simulated XC fences.
Riders will jump a series of show jumps and then proceed immediately into the xc phase which is run on an optimum time of 325-375m/m.
Jumping penalties have priority over time faults – you need to go clear to win!
NSEA / BE Eventing Rules for tack & rider equipment.
There will be no style mark.
Points will be awarded to teams of 3 or 4, best 3 scores to count (6 points to 1st down to 1 point to 6th place)
Single phase
All team riders automatically count as individuals.
This competition is open to schools from all counties and will count for RPL points

Eventers Challenge Jumping penalties are awarded as follows….
Knockdown (to include SJ and a few xc fences) 4 penalties
1st Refusal 4 penalties
2nd Refusal 8 penalties
3rd Refusal Elimination
1st Rider Fall Elimination
Horse Fall Compulsory Retirement
Starting before the bell / Retaking an obstacle already jumped / Error of course Elimination
Every commenced second over or under the optimum time 1 penalty
Exceeding time limit (3 times the time allowed) Elimination
Speed 325-375 metres / minute. No stopwatches allowed.

All riders to be entered individually
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY CHANGES AFTER MIDDAY ON FRIDAY 11th JANUARY
All TEAM MANAGERS must then declare teams NO LATER than 11am on 8th January

Body protectors are compulsory. Hair must be above collar length, long hair to be kept in place in a hair net. Crash hats, no fixed peak SJ hats (PAS015) In the event of a tie, the competitor closest to the optimum time will be the winner. If teams are tied, the times of the 3 best scores closest to the optimum time will win.

Please note that professional photographers will be present at the Qualifiers and there may also be TV cameras at the Championships. Please indicate on the entry form if you do not wish to appear in press coverage/ TV or photos taken by our official photographers.
