Pony Club Dressage - PC Grassroots Dressage Test 2018

PRIZES: Sashes and salvers and prizes in kind provided by The Pony Club. Team rosettes are awarded to
10th place. Special rosettes will be given for the best individual competitors.

Start Time 9am approx
Teams of 3 or 4 riders that have previously qualified at their Area competitions. Each member of each team will ride in a different (20m x 40m) arena. The three best individual scores will be added together to find the team’s total score. For the individual prizes the best two individuals from each of the four arenas will take part in a “ride off”. This will take place after all the teams have completed their tests, and will be held in one arena under one Judge using The Pony Club Grassroots Dressage Test 2018. Calling the test is not permitted.

Start time 9am approx.
Show Jumping Rules. Teams of 3 or 4 riders that have previously qualified at their Area competitions. The competition is to be run in accordance with Rule 36 in the Pony Club Show Jumping Rule Book 2016. The whole team (3 or 4 riders) will jump two rounds followed by a jump off against the clock if required. There is to be a minimum of 10 fences and the course will not
exceed 450m at a speed of 300mpm.
First Round will be a max height in the first round of 80 cm, the Second Round maximum height will be
80cm but two single fences will be 85cm.

Dressage: The Pony Club Grassroots Dressage Test 2018.
Showjumping: minimum of 9 fences no longer than 350m at a speed of 300mpm. Max height 80cm
including one double consisting of 2 upright fences.
Cross Country: Course built in accordance to British Eventing BE80 specifications. Max length of 1800m
with 16-25 jumping efforts.
Teams of 3 or 4 riders or individual riders that have previously qualified at their Area competitions. The three best individual scores will be totalled to find the team’s total score.

ENTRIES CLOSE: Friday 24th August, however we would be very grateful if you could enter as far in advance as possible or at least express interest to help organisers
CATERING FACILITIES: An onsite café will be open from 8am until 8.30pm on the 31st August, 1st & 2nd
September. It may be open on Thursday evening and Monday morning depending on competitor arrival /
departure times.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT: will be arranged for Saturday evening and information can be found on
www.bicton-arena.co.uk nearer the time.
HOODIES: Championship hoodies will be available for purchase at the event
Stabling Information: Yes
STABLING – Unlimited on site stabling will be available from Thursday 30th August (4pm) until Monday 3rd
September (10am) at a price of £70 per stable for the duration of the event or £25/night. Hook-up is
available at a price of £50 for the duration. All bedding & forage can be purchased on site.

o No responsibility can be taken by the organisers for any accident or damage to competitors, attendants, animals,
spectators, or their property, or vehicles of any description. By entering this competition, the exhibitor of any horse or
pony accepts that Bicton Arena, the organiser or any of the officers of the show will not be held responsible or
accountable for anything that may happen from any cause or circumstance whatsoever to any persons, exhibitors or
their servants or to any animal or article or property brought into the show ground.
o The judge’s decision is final.
o All show jumping heights are approximate
o All competitors take part at their own risk and are expected to exercise due care at all times and obey all notices placed
for their control.
o Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
o The organiser reserves the right to alter the schedule, change the arena and / or surface, refuse entry and to cancel a
class.
o No lungeing on surfaces.
o Warm up in designated area only.
o Please pick up your muck before leaving.
o No horse/pony under 5 years of age may compete (this is 4 years for the Dressage)
o Any complaints must be made to the secretary, in writing and within 30 minutes of the incident concerned or 30
minutes after scores are published along with a fee of £25.
o Practice fences must be jumped in the correct way as flagged and must not be any bigger than 10cm above the class
being jumped.
o By entering this event you are agreeing to abide by the rules.

and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards”
