MEET OUR TESTERS: Hayley Sharman & Harry Equine Affairs Marketing Director and tester for Equilibriums Stretch & Flex Exercise Bandages was Hayley Sharman & Harry. Harry is a 4 year old Dutch Warmblood gelding who was imported from Holland just 4 months ago. Harry has been out to a few shows and is being brought on slowly at home giving him experience in all disciplines until we decide on his career! Due to his age and very long gangly legs, boots and bandages are a must for both turnout and exercise at the moment so this was the perfect product for us to test! |

We use boots regularly for all our horses - from turnout to hacking - so I was really pleased to be given the opportunity to test these new boots. I’ve been trying to find a well fitting, lightweight & breathable boot for a long time — particularly for turnout & fittening work. The new Tri-Zone® Allsports Boots are just that! The boot feels incredibly lightweight and the lining is really soft and breathable. The Velcro fastenings make them quick to put on and take off and they wash up really well in the machine after a long muddy hack — good news as we tested the white boots!! After both turnout and exercise the legs remained cool and provided all the protection and support we needed. The boots are smart & shaped to fit the horse’s legs — with this in mind it’s really important to get the right size for your horse. These boots fitted Harry perfectly but they didn’t suit similar sized horses on the yard. Unlike normal brushing/ tendon boots which tend to fit most horses these require more attention to fitting — particularly the front boots. The additional protection down the back of the boot provides peace of mind — particularly for younger less established horses. A great all-round boot for dressage riders and eventers alike.

| PRODUCT FACTS : Tri-Zone® Allsports Boots with new Airlite Technology |
|
|
The new Tri-Zone® Allsports Boots are very breathable, incorporating the innovative Airlite triple layer system. This prevents overheating your horse’s legs which can cause long term tissue damage. Their lightness makes them perfect for endurance sports where tiredness can cause injury and every ounce of extra weight is important. They are very easy to fit, being designed to be worn on front or hind legs as required.
The Airlite triple layer system , developed in conjunction with a world renowned expert in equine exercise physiology, uses an innovative combination of materials. The objective was to create a boot light enough to use in racing, cross country riding and endurance sports, while providing excellent protection from concussion or penetration injuries. The outer layer is made of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), formed into a mesh for lightness. A different form of EVA is used for the inner layer. Several cycles of development has resulted in the distinctive design, of oval holes and shaped raised areas. This shaping minimises weight, while generating channelling for air, to keep the leg cool and dry, and helping to disperse shockwaves. These two layers of EVA provide effective protection against both concussion and penetration injuries. This protection is further enhanced by a strip of polycarbonate inserted down the back of the boot, inside the mesh, to protect vulnerable tendons. Between the two EVA layers is a fine mesh, to prevent dirt getting inside the boot. Laboratory testing has shown that, compared with leading brands, these boots provide excellent protection from both concussion and penetration injuries. In field trials, the boots proved their versatility, being used on both young and established horses in a variety of work from hacking to training gallops, flatwork to cross country |
