Pre-entries & Drawn Order for ALL Classes. Entries will close on Friday 19th June, late entries will be accepted at £6 extra per class if space allows, until 9am Thursday 25th June. 
Times will be published on our web site two days before competition www.westwilts.com

Classes 1,3,5,and 7 OPEN TO ALL.

Classes 2, 4, 6 and 8 restricted to current members of British Riding Clubs.

BRC teams to be declared to info@westwilts.com by 9am Thursday 25th June.

There will be a Paramedic and Vet onsite throughout the competition. The fee for this has been included in the entry fee. 

The show jumping will take place in our large outdoor arena and the xc part will be over fixed fences on grass. 

Riders must dress in full X-Country kit and BODY PROTECTORS MUST be worn. No watches will be permitted. Number bibs MUST be worn with rider number clearly displayed front and back. Hats as per current BE rules. (NO fixed peaks will be allowed and BRC members MUST have a current Riding Club Hat Tag). There will be a BRC Steward present on the day to hat tag if needed.

BRC Entries - Eligibilty for all classes can be found in the current BRC Handbook. Eligibilty will be taken from the date of the qualifier, any points/gained between the qualifier and the championships will not be counted. All competitors in the BRC Qualifer classes must be a member and be on the BRC database by midday the Friday before the qualifier. All riders must have a competitions pass on their membership profile, for the horse they are riding. Anyone failing to meet the eligibilty criteria will be disqualfied and informed by BRC HQ when the results are processed.

All hats must have a visible PINK BRC/BE/PC hat tag before they are used for warming up and competing to show that the hat meets current safety standards. BRC Competitors Only - There will be a trained official on the day to do this for you if your hat does not currently have one. For up to date hat rules please see current handbook.

Special Classes

Jump X /Combined Challenge – The judge will sound the bell and the competitor will commence their round through timing equipment. The Show Jumping course will consist of 10 show jump fences, which will include a rustic style fence at fence 10 and at least one double. The competitor will then leave the arena and commence their XC round following the show jumping. The XC will consist of approximately 8 - 10 XC fences which will include the water complex.  The warm up will take place on a surface. There will be a compulsory TROT section from SJ to XC and a time allowance will be made for this. The round finishes when the competitor crosses the finish line on the XC. (Jumps may vary in height, up or down, by 5cm of the class height).  

BRC Qualifying Classes: 

70 Junior Combined Challenge, for teams and individuals

80 Junior Combined Challenge, for teams and individuals

80 Senior Combined Challenge, for teams and individuals

90 Combined Challenge, a mixed class (seniors and/or juniors) for teams and individuals

The classes are for teams and individuals. Teams may only be mixed seniors and juniors in the 90cm and 100cm, and numbers to qualify can be found in Appendix 10A of the Handbook.

 

TIME KEEPING The entire competition will be timed. The show jumping and cross county phases will be separately timed, with a compulsory TROT section between the Show Jumping and XC.

Total Score The total score is obtained by adding together show jumping and cross-country penalties.

Individuals The individual with the lowest total score will win.

Teams The team total is obtained by adding together the three lowest individual penalty scores per team.

Ties In the event of a tie for any team place in a competition, the score of the fourth rider will be taken into consideration.

If there is still equality the total marks for all the riders in the tying teams will be considered in the following order:

• fastest show jumping times

• nearest to cross-country optimum time (if still equal preference will be given to the nearest OVER the time allowed).

In the event of a tie for any place in an individual competition, the riders will be placed by considering their marks in the following order:

• fastest show jumping times

• nearest to cross-country optimum time (if still equal preference will be given to the nearest OVER the time allowed). 

(Jumps may vary in height, up or down, by 5cm of the class height). Penalties will be given as per the table below for both BRC Combined Challenge and Arena Jump X.

Refreshments:

 Our canteen will be open, serving hot and cold food, drinks, snacks and ice creams.

Withdrawals/Refunds
  • All competitions are pre-entry only, no refund or transfer is possible after initial close of entries, date as published on the schedule.
  • Any amendments, to horse, rider or class will be subject to a £5 admin fee.
  • All withdrawals to be made via e-mail please.
  • The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.
  • For withdrawals made before the published closing date, refunds of the Entry Cost can be made less a £5.00 Admin Fee, or alternatively we can offer a free transfer to another event.
  • No refunds or transfers can be made during the late entry period unless we are able to replace it from a wait list.
  • Please see relevant rule books for additional policies in place for British Dressage, British Show Jumping and British Eventing.


Abandonment Policy
In the case of abandonment of a competition for any reason we will offer a free transfer towards an alternative competition – or a refund minus a £5.00 admin fee. The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.

Terms & Conditions

 

1.         All entries and payments to be made online.

2.         ALL horses must not be under current investigation for infectious diseases including, for example, Equine Herpes Virus (EHV), Equine Influenza, Strangles.

3.        All Horses must not have been in contact with and is not kept on the same premises as a horse known to have or be under investigation for the neurological form of EHV, Equine Influenza, Strangles or Equine Viral Arteritis.

4.         HORSES/PONIES MUST NOT BE LEFT TIED UP OUTSIDE UNATTENDED.

5.         Please do not park in front of or block access to the loading bay.

6.         Number Bibs MUST be worn, no exceptions.  NUMBERS WILL BE ALLOCATED WITH TIMES. THIS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES AND MUST BE EASILY READABLE.

7.        NO spectators or filming are allowed in any of the warm-up or competition arenas. Please use viewing areas.

8.        In the interests of health and safety, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and stewards including conduct in working in & viewing areas.

9.        The organisers reserve the right to alter classes, cancel any show and refuse any entry without explanation.

10.      Warm up time may be limited by numbers allowed in arena to an estimated 30 – 40 minutes.

11.      You are expected to ride on your allocated times. If you do not do so, you risk being unable to compete.

12.      DRESSAGE SHEETS - Please email us for a copy or leave an A5 Large Letter Stamped Addressed HARD BACKED Envelope for rosettes or an ordinary SAE for dressage sheets only.

13.      PLEASE CLEAR UP ANY DROPPINGS OR HAY IN THE LORRY PARK.

14.      Dogs are allowed but MUST be kept on a short lead at all times. No Exceptions. They are not permitted in the main building or any of the arenas. 

15.   Although every effort will be made to ensure the safety of participants, horse riding is a very high-risk sport and therefore, West Wilts Equestrian Centre and its staff cannot accept responsibility for any accident, damage or injury to horses, owners or other persons or property.

16.      The organisers decision is final.
