Timings: Class times will be made available with bridle numbers on the evening of Thursday befre the event   All times are approximate and may be subject to change. No paper numbers will be given. You must wear your own bridle or bib numbers, these MUST be  displayed  and you will be called for your round in order. Course walk will be approximately 10-15 minutes before the start of the class.

Show Information

Entries: Close of entries is Thursday midday before the event. We reserve the right to close entries earlier if classes become full. After close of entries no further entries will be accepted. Bib or bridle number MUST be worn.
Competitors will jump a course of 8 show jumps immediately followed by 10-12 cross country fences and will finish with the last fence as a show jump, the joker fence (this is not optional). The joker fence will be approximately 10cm higher than the rest of the course, if you knock the Joker fence down you will incur 6 penalties.

the 70cm class is not a qualifier and but is run under the same rules with the exception of the age limit of riders.

Bates Saddles Arena Eventing series is a two-phase competition where riders can qualify for the Championships to be held at Aston Le Walls Eventing Centre on Saturday 28 February & Sunday 1st March 2026.

Arena Eventing is the perfect pre-season competition, providing both show jumping practice and training over some of the technical elements of cross country, all on an arena (this could be a surface and/or grass) during the winter months.  

Competitors will jump a course of (8-10) show jumps immediately followed by (10-12) cross country fences, including a water fence and will finish with the last fence as a show jump, the joker fence. The joker fence will be approximately 10cm higher than the rest of the course.

Qualifying classes are run at 80, 90 and 100 and are open to anyone in their 12th birth year or older. Please see below for full rules.

Qualification is as follows:

For 80cm & 90cm classes
• below 15 starters in a class > top 4 qualify
• up to and incl 30 starters in a class > top 6 qualify
• 31 or more starters in a class >top 8 qualify

For 100 cm class
• below 15 starters in a class > top 6 qualify
• up to and incl 30 starters in a class > top 8 qualify
• 31 or more starters in a class >top 10 qualify

You will receive an email confirmation of your class entry and payment.
Entry fee £35 per class plus £4 paramedic fee per rider.

Withdrawals/Refunds

Withdrawals/refunds: Cancellations received before the close of entries can have 50% of the class fees refunded - first aid is non refundable. Alternativly a voucher code for the value of the class may be issued. After this time, no refunds will be given.  Voucher codes may be issued to anyone who we can fill the space from a potential wait list. If weather conditions are extreme, please check our website for updates or call in case of cancellation.
