The following tests are the Championship PYO tests: please select the test at the level in which you qualified: PRELIMINARY 4, NOVICE 4, ELEMENTARY 4, MEDIUM 4, ADVANCED MEDIUM 4, PSG. Riders who qualified for the Championships by completing a BE test may ride a BD test at the level in which they qualified. Highest % wins the class.

FREESTYLE CHAMPIONSHIP CLASS. This class is open to all. Anybody who has qualified for the Championships may also enter the Freestyle Championship class at the level in which they qualified. Please state level in the class notes when submitting your entry (Prelim - Grand Prix.) All tests are in a 60x20m arena. Intro freestyle Championship music tests can be ridden in a 40x20m arena.

Show Information

**** Eligibility for the championships is based on achieving a 60%+ score at any Bury Farm unaffiliated dressage and evening dressage show beween 1st September 2024 and 17th August 2025.. You must compete at the level and in the section for which you qualified, unless you elect to move from the Restricted to Open secton. Entries will be accepted up until MIDDAY on Wednesday 27th August.

Late entries will NOT be accepted unless space allows. 

Warm up classes are open to all to any competitor. Competitors may compete in warm up classes without needing to enter a Championship class.

Riders complete one Championship test in front of a panel of two judges.

The Long Arena PYO Championship class may only have one judge.

All tests are the BD tests introduced in July 2024.

Riders must compete in the section in which they qualified, unless they elect to change from the Restricted to the Open section.

Usual sections apply - riders must ride in either the restricted or the open section at Intro, Preliminary and Novice level. There are no sections for the Elementary, PYO and Music classes.

SECTIONS: 
INTRO CLASSES 
Restricted: you may compete in the Restricted section if neither you nor your horse are affiliated to BD, BS or BE, or you have not been placed 1st or 2nd in a prelim class at Bury Farm (horse and rider combination.) You may compete in the Restricted section if you are registered as a CLUB BD Member.

The Warm up class can be ridden in any preferred tack, including bitless bridles. The Intro Championship class must be ridden in a snaffle bit.

Open: you should compete in the Open section if you or your horse are affiliated to BD/BS/BE, or you have been placed 1st or 2nd in a prelim class at Bury Farm (horse and rider combination.) 

PRELIM CLASSES 
Restricted: non-BD/BE riders (excluding BD club members) who have not won 3 tests at prelim or above at Bury Farm (horse and rider combination.) Neither horse nor rider can be currently registered with BD, BS or BE 
Open: Open to all horses and riders who wish to compete at the Centre regardless of membership or association to equine organisations, or of horse and rider points achieved in any ridden discipline.

NOVICE CLASSES:

Restricted: non-BD/BE riders (excluding BD associate members) who have not won 3 tests at novice or above at Bury Farm (horse and rider combination.)  Neither horse nor rider can be currently registered with BD, BS or BE 
Open: open to all horses and riders who wish to compete at the Centre regardless of membership or association to equine organisations, or of horse and rider points achieved in any ridden discipline


***Horse and Rider Combinations that have previously won a BFEC Unaffiliated Dressage Championship class can still compete at the same level but they must compete in the Open section***

Riders who enter the championship music class must ride their test in a 60 x 20m arena (Intro riders may compete in a 40x20m arena if they enter the music championship class.)
Bridle or saddle pad numbers required. Two numbers MUST be worn either on the bridle or saddle pad.
Please declare on day of competition at BFEC to the steward.
Dogs MUST be on a lead and may not enter competition arenas..
All Bury Farm EC unaffiliated dressage events are run in the spirit of BD Championship rules. 

 

As this is a Championship show whips and commanders are not allowed for Championship classes. Whips and Commanders are permitted in warm up classes. Appropriate dress is required including jackets. The Championship times are drawn to order and so we cannot accommodate requests for early/late times at the show to comply with Championship rules. Thanks!

Stabling Information: Yes

Overnight stables offered at £25 per night
Hook up £25 per night

Day stable £10

Stables MUST be left clean and dry upon departuure. Failure to do so will result in a muck-out fee being applied. Competitors who stable their horses at the centre must bring their own tools to the show. Water buckets are required as stables do not have automatic drinkers.

Passports must be presented to the show secretary upon arrival. Access to stables will not be permitted until passport checks have been completed to comply with Bury Farm biosecrity protocols.

Rosettes will be awarded 1st-8th place for each Championship class.

Additional prizes will be awarded throughout the show.

 

Refreshments:

Our Paddocks cafe will be open prior to and during competiton hours serving hot and cold food, drinks, snacks and light refreshments.

Withdrawals/Refunds

Please email withdrawals to dressage@buryfarmestates.co.uk or text 07568 395548 on the day of the show.

Refunds and transfers to future shows will not be issued after times have been published. A transfer of entries may be considered if the competitor emails dressage@buryfarmestates.co.uk prior to the show times being published. Bury Farm will issue refunds for entries in line with British Dressage rules. Bury Farm reserves the right to charge an administration fee for any refund or transfer of entries.

Terms & Conditions

By entering any equestrian class or competition run or held at Bury Farm EC you acknowledge that you are taking part in a risk sport and are a competent rider at the level to which you are competing.

 The Bury Farm team looks forward to welcoming competitors to the centre. As the health and safety of all visitors is paramount please ensure that you have read the below information as you will be asked to comply with these guidelines during the course of your visit. We therefore trust that all competitors will remain fit and well during their visit to the centre. Bury Farm reserves the right to ask competitors to leave the centre if any of the below guidelines are breached. 


Entries and Times
Entries for Bury Farm shows must be made online via the event link on the Events Tab of the Bury Farm website, www.buryfarmequestrianvillage.co.uk. . Entries will not be accepted after the closing date unless space allows. 

Competitors will be required to provide the following information with their entry: 

  • Name of Horse 
  • Name of Rider 
  • Classes entered 
  • Stabling requirements if any
  • Horsebox Registration number 
  • Horsebox size in tonnes 
  • Payment details - all entries must be paid for online in advance of the show 

Once submitted entries may be changed prior to the times being published by contacting dressage@buryfarmestates.co.uk with the entry changes. 

Bury Farm prize vouchers cannot be redeemed against Championship class entries.

Times will be posted on the event link two days prior to the competition. 

Once the times have been published entries may still be amended but only if a horse and/or rider can be substituted into the class and time on the published schedule.

On the day of the competition
Competitors may park on our hardstanding lorry park. Lorries may not park on the hardstanding in between the outdoor competition and warm up arenas as this space is reserved for low sided vehicles and cars. 

Competitors may use the outdoor sand arena and the indoor warm up arenas during this show. . A maximum of 12 competitors will be allowed in the outdoor sand warm up and 5 in each of the indoor warm up arenas at any given time. No member of the public may attend the warm up spaces on foot. A collecting ring steward will call each competitor to the Arena at their allotted time. The competitor must enter the arena via the designated entrance as directed by the collecting ring steward. Competitors not access any other arena or farm track after their test has finished. 


Scores will be added up at the venue throughout the show. Results will not be printed and competitors will not be able to view results on Bury Farm noticeboards. Results will be verified by a judge and they will be published online via the Bury Farm website show link.  Sheets will be available for collection after each class has concluded. Prize Givings will take place and the top 8 competitors in each class are invited to attend, unmounted, in full competition dress to receive their rosettes and awards.

Sheets can be posted after the show upon receipt of an SAE or by paying £2.50 towards postage, providing name and address and class details to the secretary.

Toilets will be available for use in the International show centre. Disabled visitors should contact the show organiser to ensure that they have full access to toilet facilities during the course of their visit.

The Paddocks cafe team will provide a service on the day of competition and will be offering food and drink.

Competitors may not access the livery facilities during their visit to the centre.

Our agreed onsite partner SBM Photographic will provide a photographic service at selected Bury Farm shows, complying with GDPR guidelines. Some large Bury Farm events are live streamed by H&C TV and by Clip My Horse TV  under the guidance of equine media services policies.

BIOSECURITY MEASURES

All horses must be travelled with passports which can demonstrate that all vaccinations are up to date (Bury Farm operates a 12-month vaccination policy)

Horses must also show no clinical signs of the following when attending the centre:

  1. recent cough of unknown cause
  2. recent nasal discharge of unknown cause
  3. enlarged lymph nodes
  4. fever (>38.5 degrees)
  5. recent onset of neurological signs of unknown cause
  6. diarrhoea

Horses must also 

  1. not be under current investigation for EHV infection
  2. have not been in contact with and is not kept on the same premises as a horse known to have or be under investigation for EHV
  3. have not travelled out of the country for the past 28 days.

 Horses should NOT be brought to the centre if they are not in good health on the date of travel.

1. The decision of the judges & stewards in all cases is final. They reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any part of the competition or to refuse any entry without stating a reason.
2. The organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health, safety and welfare of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obey instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.
3. The organisers will not be held responsible and accept no liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, rider, spectators, vehicles or their contents and accessories, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify against any legal action arising from such incident.
4. All competitors must be suitably dressed in correct riding attire to current British Safety Standards. Riding / Jodhpur boots must be worn for all classes. 
5. Horses & ponies tied to lorry or trailers must not be left unattended.
6. Please ensure the area around your horsebox / trailer is clean and tidy. Droppings collected and not swept onto or left on BFEC. Please take litter home or use the bins provided.
7. Children must be supervised at all times
8. Whilst outside arenas, horses and ponies should be moved at a walk only.
9. No dogs allowed, other than in Lorry Park Only and MUST be on a lead at all times

10. Drivers are urged to take extra care when driving around the Show Centre and in the surrounding villages. Please be mindful of horses, pedestrians & other vehicles.
