Timings: Class times will be made available with bridle numbers on the evening of Thursday 22nd  August on the Wellington Riding website. All times are approximate and may be subject to change. No paper numbers will be given. You must print out your own number.

Course walks will be approximately 15 minutes before the start of the class. Please note that the Pony club  Arena is a 10 minute walk from the lorry park so please allow plenty of time to get to the arena and to warm-up. If you miss your time, you forfeit your entry. The course cannot be walked the evening prior to the evening.

N.B. This event will be held at the Wellington International Horse Trials & Country Fair, NOT at Wellington Riding. These classes will be held in the Pony Club Arena (grass).

Entries: Close of entries is 12:00pm on Wednesday 21st  August. We reserve the right to close entries earlier if classes become full. Late entries will onyl be accepted if space permits. 


This event will run under British Eventing Arena Eventing Rules 2023.
All classes will take place in the Pony club  Arena (outdoors/on grass) at the Wellington International Horse Trials & Country Fair.
British Eventing Arena Eventing Rules:
Horse/rider combinations will first jump round a course of show jumping fences (8-9 fences), followed immediately by a course of cross-country fences (10-12 fences). The course will finish with a compulsory ‘joker’ show jumping fence set 10cm higher than the rest of the course. There will be no more than 25 jumping efforts in total.
The winner will be the horse/rider combination with the lowest number of penalties. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the horse/rider combination closest to the optimum time.
Please note this is NOT a qualifier for the British Eventing Arena Eventing Championships or Sunshine Tour.
Dress code: Cross-country attire. Body protectors are compulsory. Riding hats must be up to the current recommended BE safety standards and must NOT have a fixed peak. Stop watches are not permitted.

You will receive an email confirmation of your class entry and payment.

 (plus  £4 first aid, lorry pass, 3 entry passes: 1 for rider, two for accompanying adults).

Prize Information

Rosettes 1st-10th place in each class dependant on number of entries 

Withdrawals/Refunds

Withdrawals/refunds: a 50% refund will be issued if notice of withdrawal is received before close of entries. No refunds/transfers offered after close of entries under any circumstances. If weather conditions are extreme, please check our website for updates or call in case of cancellation.

Terms & Conditions

Entry constitutes an agreement to be bound by & to abide by the rules and regulations of Wellington Riding. More information: www.wellington-riding.co.uk/shows-and-events/ Rules pertaining to the Health & Safety of all persons at Wellington Riding. 1) All competitors should wear a correctly fastened hat to the current BSI standards at all times when mounted on the show ground. 2) All dogs to be kept on a lead at all times & are not allowed in the arena. 3) All horses or ponies, when outside the arena, should be moved at walk only, to ensure the safety of all spectators and pedestrians. 4) Children under the age of 16 should be accompanied by a parent of guardian over the age of 18 years, who will be fully responsible for their behaviour and welfare. 5) Please note that flash photography is strictly forbidden. Mobile phones should be silenced during competitions. 6) Smoking is prohibited anywhere on site. 7) Please keep the lorry park clear of hay and droppings. 8) The organisers decision is final. Although every effort will be made to ensure the safety of participants, horse riding is a high-risk sport and therefore, Wellington Riding and its staff cannot accept responsibility for any accident, damage or injury to horses, owners or other persons or property.
