PHASE II SHOW JUMPING:
At PC90 and PC100, competitors incurring more than 24 Showjumping penalties will not be allowed to go Cross Country (except, possibly, technical elimination at judge’s discretion). Competitors at PC80 at the discretion of the Official Steward.

PHASE III CROSS COUNTRY:
Competitors are eliminated after 3 refusals at any one jump, or 4 refusals over whole course. PC80 only may sometimes be allowed to continue after the fourth cumulative refusal at the discretion of the Official Steward.

Terms & Conditions

1. These Horse Trials are open to all but will be run in accordance with the rules of the Pony Club Eventing 2022. If you are unsure of the correct dress for yourself and turnout of your horse or pony in any of the three phases, please check Pony Club Eventing Rule Book. It is the responsibility of competitors to comply with the rules. 2. All riding hats must conform to Pony Club Rules 2022. Competitors may not compete without a tagged hat and must wear this at all times when mounted with the chinstrap fastened. A jockey skull with no fixed peak must be worn for all cross country at 0.80m and above. 3. Back protectors are compulsory for the cross country phase. Back protectors used for cross country must meet BETA 2009 Level 3 standard (purple label) or BETA 2018 Level 3 standard (blue and black label). Air Jackets ARE NOT to be worn under any item of clothing. If worn it must only be used in addition to a normal body protector which meets the above standard. Medical Armbands are recommended and if used MUST be worn on the arm. 4. Spurs: Only blunt spurs, without rowels or sharp edges, and spurs that have a smooth rotating ball on the shank may be worn. If the spurs are curved, the curve must be downwards, and the shank must point straight to the back and not exceed 4cm in length. The measurement is taken from the heel of the boot to the end of the shank. 5. Dressage phase: whips allowed PC80 and PC90; NOT permitted at all PC100. 6. Electronic devices not allowed while rider is competing. Stop watches permitted at PC90 and above. 7. Numbers will not be given out for Number Bibs. Print your own numbers in font size 300. Bring your own number bib. 8. Withdrawals - £3.00 admin fee per class will be deducted from any refunds made before the closing date. No refunds will be made after the closing date unless a medical or veterinary certificate is produced within one week of the event, subject to notification of withdrawal prior to the event. (less £10.00 admin fee) 9. In the event of cancellation prior to the event a £10.00 admin charge will be made. If the event is cancelled on the day, there will be no refund. 10. Horse/pony may compete in only one class. 11. Competitors will be required to report to stewards for all phases 15 minutes before their time. Failure to comply will carry the risk of elimination. 12. All stallions must wear identifying disc on their bridle - written permission needed from DC/Centre Head. 13. Competitors who are not members of The Pony Club are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third party cover. The Petersfield Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non-Members and their insurance will not cover you. 14. Legal Liability: Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis. 15. Health and Safety: Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards. 16. Privacy Notice: Please note that we will be publishing the competitors’ times and results on our website, this will include competitors’ name, horse name, branch and full results. If you wish your details to be excluded from these publications, please make a note of this on your entry form. Please refer to our branch privacy policy on our website.
