Riders who have been placed at British Dressage are not eligible to compete in the same level or lower. eg Competitors who have been placed at a British Dressage Prelim competition are not eligible to compete in the Intro or Prelim however are welcome to enter the Novice or Elementary. A rider wishing to ride through a test but is ineligible can enter any class H/C

Running the first Wednesday of the month;

  • March 4th
  • April 1st
  • May 6th
  • June 3rd
  • July 1st - final & presentation evening with BBQ

Points will be allocated on placings with prizes being awarded to the competitors who are top of the table. The winner with the most points will be presented with a haycube worth over £130.

Points will be awarded as follows

1st place - 10 points, 2nd place - 9 points, 3rd place - 8 points, 4th place - 7 points, 5th place - 6 points, 6th place - 5 points, 7th place - 4 points, 8th place - 3 points, 9th place - 2 points and 10th place - 1 point.

Entries must be made online in advance using our Online Entry System. Payments are secure and go directly to Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd using SagePay. You will receive an email confirmation of your class entry and payment. For full terms and conditions, please see below.

 Terms and conditions:

Inline with the current BEF, BHS and BD recommendations, all competing horses must have been vaccinated or had a booster for Equine Influenza within the last 6 months, up to and including the show date. All horses must arrive with their original passports, not copies, which must be shown to the show secretary for checking BEFORE unloading. Any horses arriving on site without an original passport, showing an out of date vaccine or if a booster has been given in less than 7 days will, unfortunately, not be able to take part. 

NO SMOKING PLEASE – In compliance with current UK Law and our own policy, this restriction applies to all areas of Swallowfield EC land, property and facilities and is stipulated as a clause in our commercial insurance.

NO DOGS PLEASE - this applies to all areas of Swallowfield EC land, property and facilities. However you may walk your dog along the public footpath that runs through the fields. Dogs must then be kept on a lead at all times.

DATA PROTECTION - As a competitor / participant at Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd events, you agree and understand that by making this entry or booking that we may publish some your personal information as part of the times schedules for an event or the results of the event, and may pass such information to the governing body or any affiliated organisation for the purpose of contractual agreements, insurance, licences or for publishing results either for the event alone or combined with or compared to other events. Results may include (but not be limited to) name, any club affiliation, membership numbers, event times etc.

 

Event entries

1.     By completing an entry, whether online, telephone or in writing, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

2.     All entries or bookings must be accompanied with the appropriate entry fees, paid either by credit/debit card, cash or cheque (made payable to ‘Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd’).

3.     Any competitor withdrawing after the closing date will not be entitled to a refund, unless accompanied by a valid Vet or Doctor’s certificate as per current BD rules and regulations.

4.     All Dressage competitions shall run under British Dressage rules, unless stated otherwise.

5.     Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd reserves the right to refuse any entry without reason, to cancel or alter any class, section or competition as they see fit, at any time, without giving reason. Classes may be split if entries warrant.

6.     The judge’s and organiser’s decision is final. Any offensive or abusive behaviour will lead to expulsion from the premises and denied access to future events held at Swallowfield Equestrian Centre.

7.     Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd, the organisers, their representatives or helpers do not accept liability for injury, damage or loss suffered by spectators, competitors, their horses, grooms, friends, vehicles or property, however caused, and under any circumstances, except proven negligence of the organisers.

8.     Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd must be made aware of any claims for negligence on the day of the competition and be submitted in writing within 3 days of the competition. All claims to be submitted in writing to Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd, Swallowfield Equestrian Centre, Rising Lane, Lapworth B94 6JD

9.     All competitors must compete in the declared order. If a competitor does not present themselves to the steward when called, they will be deemed withdrawn.

10. Correct riding attire must be worn by all competitors unless stated otherwise. Current BSI standard hard hats must be worn and properly secured at all times whilst mounted. Body protectors are also advised when jumping and are compulsory for all outdoor Cross Country events.

11. The welfare and health of all horses attending any show at Swallowfield Equestrian Centre is paramount. Any horse deemed to be sick, or injured in anyway, will be immediately eliminated and the owner shall be asked to remove the horse from the premises.

12. All horses must be 4 years old or over and eligible to compete, with exception of young stock showing classes.

13. Lunging is not permitted in any of the arenas or fields at any time.

14. Entries in some cases will be limited. Classes may start early and might also run into the evening.

15. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and remain the responsibility of the owner. If any dog is found loose on the Swallowfield Equestrian Centre grounds unattended, then appropriate action will be taken. Any dog fouling MUST be cleaned up and disposed of appropriately.

16. It is compulsory that horseboxes are NOT to be mucked out on site.

17. It is compulsory that all gates MUST be kept closed when possible.

18. Children under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

19. It is the responsibility of all competitors to ensure that the grounds of Swallowfield Equestrian Centre and the surrounding premises are kept clean and litter put in the bins provided.

20. The speed limits on the centre grounds must be adhered to at all times.

21. The centre’s staff reserve the right to ask any competitor or visitor in breach of any of these terms and conditions, to leave the grounds immediately.

22. Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions should the need arise.

23. In the event of a Zoonotic diseases (e.g. Strangles, Equine Influenza, Herpes Virus) outbreak in the local area then all hirers and competitors are responsible for making sure that they minimise the risk of any potential contamination and if requested they provide a vet certificate and or passport to ensure the horses are disease free before arriving on site.

 

Payments

1.     The online bookings facility is hosted by MyRidingLife, part of AffairsGroup.co.uk, through www.swallowfieldec.co.uk.  MyRidingLife acts as the authorised facilitator of services in respect of all event tickets you purchase from our website.

2.     Payments made by Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards are accepted. We do not accept American Express - if payment is attempted through this method then the transaction will fail.

3.     By purchasing a ticket through MyRidingLife your contract is held with Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd, on behalf of events held at Swallowfield Equestrian Centre.

4.     Your booking is issued subject to acceptance of these terms and conditions.

5.     Swallowfield Equestrian Centre reserves the right to open and close the sale of tickets for events without prior notification or warning, i.e. if events are at capacity prior to the closing date.

6.     All payment transactions are processed through Sage Pay. Neither Swallowfield Equestrian Ltd nor MyRidingLife have access to any payment card details.

7.     Upon payment and acceptance by us you will receive a confirmation email detailing your event booking and information you submitted. It is your responsibility to check this information is correct and if incorrect to inform Swallowfield Equestrian Centre at least 24 hours prior to the event date.

8.     Bookings made online will have the option to transfer monies to another event held at Swallowfield Equestrian Centre, at no extra cost, prior to the original event date. Once an event has taken place, you will be unable to transfer your entry or any monies to another event and no refund can be issued. The booking fee of £1.50 is retained, unless otherwise agreed.

9.     In the event the horse is unable to participate in an event for health reasons, a vet’s certificate is required in order to process a refund. Refunds will be issued at the discretion of the organiser. Please note any refund can take up to 10 working days for the funds to return.

10. Swallowfield Equestrian Centre reserves the right to cancel bookings which it reasonably believes to have been made fraudulently.

11. If there is an error in the pricing for bookings you have made, MyRidingLife will, where possible, give you the option of reconfirming your booking at the correct price (and credit or debit your account as applicable) or cancelling your order and receiving a refund of the price of the tickets.

12. You should check whether an event has been cancelled and the date and time of any rearranged event. Swallowfield Equestrian Centre will endeavour to notify anyone who has booked for the affected event.
