Show Jumping Classes: Judged as a single phase competition. Competitors jump the whole course with the time taken in the second half of the course determining order of places if there is equality of faults (fastest time wins).
PLEASE NOTE:
THE CLUB FIELD WILL BE OPENED ONE HOUR BEFORE THE START TIME OF THE FIRST CLASS ON SHOW DAYS AND MAY BE LOCKED AS SOON AS ½ HOUR AFTER THE LAST CLASS FINISHES
HATS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED AND SHOULD BE TO THE MINIMUM STANDARD WITH HARNESS PROPERLY ADJUSTED AND FASTENED. For details on the current minimum standard please see the rules at the end of the schedule.

THERE IS NO WATER SUPPLY AT THE FIELD
Horses who are not competing are not allowed on the showground without prior permission from the show secretary
Juniors are those aged under 18 on 1 January 2020.
Payment Details & Event Fees
Entries Secretary – Tish Harwood. Entries in advance but we will accept entries on the day.

Payment is secure and it goes directly to Elstead Riding Club.
You will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment.
Entry Fee: £12.00 (ERC members £9.00) per class
+ £3 per competitor towards first aid
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. All events will be run in accordance with the current British Riding Clubs Rule Book. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that they comply with all BRC rules which can be found on the BRC website: http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/brc-handbook 2. A ‘Riding Hat’, designed to provide protection and with a three point harness properly adjusted and fitted, must be worn at all times when mounted by anyone, whether or not a competitor, at all Elstead Riding Club events/competitions, including exercising, warming up and competing. Failure to do so may incur elimination. The British Riding Clubs standard for protective headgear can be found at: http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/brc-handbook competitors are responsible for ensuring their hat meets the required standard 3. The decision of the Judge is final 4. Any objection must be made in writing within 30 minutes of the incident, accompanied by a deposit of £20 which will be refunded if the objection is sustained 5. Neither the organisers nor the Hampton Estate nor Priory Equestrian accept liability for any claims in respect of injury or damage to any person, animal or property, however caused 6. The organisers reserve the right to amend the schedule as necessary 7. The organisers reserve the right to reject or cancel any entry made by any person or cancel any class (refunding any fees paid less £3 per competitor to cover administrative expenses) 8. All entry fees by post, or on the day, must accompany entry forms 9. No entries will be refunded except in the case of injury/illness of horse/rider where evidence of this is supplied e.g. letter/invoice from vet, medical certificate, etc. 10. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times whilst in the Club Field or at Priory Equestrian (dogs, except for assistance dogs, are not allowed indoors at Priory Equestrian). 11. All competitors must wear the correct riding clothes whilst competing and exercising at competitions 12. Stewards instructions must be followed 13. Misuse of whips or spurs will incur elimination. Blatant use of bad language may result in the competitor being eliminated and/or barred from further competitions 14. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 15. Horses must be kept to a walk unless in the warm-up or competition arenas 16. The organisers reserve the right to eliminate any competitor who, in their opinion, places him/herself or others in any danger or who fails to observe the rules in this schedule 17. Horses who are not competing are not allowed on the show ground without prior permission from the show secretary 18. STALLIONS AND COLTS must be shown in a suitable bit and bridle with a stallion disc. Stallions/colts must not be led or ridden by a junior (under 18 years old). 19. All competitors and/or owners, must have their own insurance which includes suitable public liability cover.
HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
This Health and Safety Policy applies to all events run by the Elstead Riding Club.
1. The organiser of each event has the overall responsibility for health and safety. 2. All events are organised in accordance with health and safety legislation as applicable. All who have, to any extent, control of premises or site at the event are responsible for ensuring that: • everything reasonably practicable is done to ensure the health, safety and welfare of those attending the event; • they conduct themselves so that they do not put themselves or anyone else at risk; • the access to and egress from the site is safe and unobstructed. 3. Those referred to in paragraph 2 above include all officials of the event and members of the Committee. 4. All individuals attending an event have a responsibility for their own safety and must act in such a way that others are not put at risk by their actions. 5. Emergencies • First aid cover is provided on site at all open events. Anyone requiring medical attention should report, or be reported, to the Secretary's office; • Emergency services must have access to all parts of the event site at all times and members of the public must not park vehicles so as to obstruct access; • In the case of an emergency, members of the public should contact the nearest official. • If emergency services are required, members of the public should report immediately to the Secretary's office; • Vet on call for all open events. Anyone requiring veterinary assistance should report to the Secretary’s office. 6. Horses can easily be frightened and can be dangerous. Members of the public are requested to keep clear from horse areas and to avoid behaviour which might alarm horses. 7. Emergency contact details and vehicle information MUST be lodged with the Secretary if you are competing on your own. 8. Dogs should be kept under close control and on a short lead. The Dangerous Dogs Act now covers private land.
PHOTOGRAPHY &/or FILMING:
Please be advised that photography and/or filming will take place at our events. This could be in the arenas or within the exercising and lorry parking areas. If you do not wish to appear in any images captured, please inform the secretary so that we can take appropriate steps to ensure that you are not included. The photographs/film could potentially be included in publicity sent to the local press or in Elstead Riding Club promotional materials in the future and may also be published on the Elstead Riding Club website and social media.
