Show Information

Entries close at 2pm on the Thursday prior to Show weekend or sooner if classes meet full capacity.
No phone/text/email entries. In the event of needing to prioritise entries these will be allocated strictly by date receipt order.
Due to Covid-19 Guidelines regarding Lorry & Trailer parking, entry numbers will be limited to max 8 entries per class.

Dressage – Lead rein competitors are permitted to enter intro classes only (please notifiy at time of booking). Classes 9 and 10 are run on % basis.
Surface – Dressage: warm up & tests are ridden outdoors on surfaced arenas.

ELIGIBILITY RULES:
Riders are asked to enter classes appropriate to the horse/rider combination ability & experience. Riders underestimating the combinations ability may be asked to consider the class as H/C & enter the next appropriate class.

Payment is secure and it goes directly to Halesworth & District Riding Club.
You will receive an email confirmation of your class entry and payment.

Prize Information
Rosettes to 3th place and will be split between Seniors and Juniors in classes 7 -10. NO CASH payments
Completed score sheets and rosettes will not be presented on the day but shall be posted to competitors within 48 hours.

Special Classes
Leagues:
Please note that all Halesworth & District Club members are eligible to enter the leagues. Points will be awarded as follows: - 10 for 1st, 8 for 2nd, 6 for 3rd, 4 for 4th, 3 for 5th, 2 for 6th & 1 point for entering the class. Prizes will be awarded to the overall winners & runners-up at the AGM. The Dressage League will be split into Senior & Juniors (under 18 years as of 1st January 2020). Cumulative points leagues for Introduction (classes 1 & 2), Preliminary (classes 3 & 4), Novice (Class 5), Novice/Elementary (Class 6) & Elementary/Medium (class 7) tests will run over the season.

RoR Riding Club Challenge
Although all thoroughbred horses, registered or unregistered with any association are welcome to compete in relevant classes at Halesworth & District RC competitions, they will need to hold competition membership with Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) in order to be eligible to take part in the Retraining of Racehorses Riding Club Challenge. A RoR Riding Club Challenge Rosette will be awarded to the horse and rider combination scoring the most points on the day – points are awarded for class placing and participation. The RoR registration number must be included on the entry form for each class. An RoR challenge trophy will be awarded at the end of 2020 to the Halesworth & District Riding Club member with an ex-racehorse (RoR Registered) accruing the most points at a Halesworth Club Unaffiliated Competition in 2020.

Withdrawals/Refunds
Withdrawing: Please contact the Entries Secretary asap on 01502 711014 or sue_batchelor11@btinternet.com. Any withdrawals after the closing date must be accompanied by vet or doctors note to allow full refund unless a replacement competitor can be allocated.

Terms & Conditions
EQUINE INFLUENZA VACCINATIONS: It is a venue requirement that all horses or ponies attending must hold up to date vaccination records (horses new to the club must provide vaccination records via email at time of booking) with concurrent boosters

RULES: Competitions will be run under BRITISH RIDING CLUBS rules.
Where a specific situation is not covered within these rules, the official rules for BRITISH DRESSAGE shall apply. In all cases, the judge’s decision is final. Where possible, we will use British Dressage Listed Judges. Where this is not possible, our Judges will be experienced competitors BHS Instructors and/or unaffiliated Judges. All tests will be current British Dressage Tests.
Jackets & gloves must be worn. Gaiters are permitted, but no chaps or half-chaps. At all our shows, in hot weather, the Judge may permit competitors to remove their jackets, but only if a long/short sleeved shirt is worn (not sleeveless).
Hats must be worn & comply with current minimum safety standards – PAS 015: 1998 or 2011 provided they are BSI Kitemarked or Inspec IC Marked VG1 01.040: 2014-12 provided they are BSI Kitemarked or Inspec IC Marked ASTM F1163 (2004a or 04a onwards) AND MUST HAVE SEI mark SNELL E2001 or E2016 AND MUST HAVE Official SNELL label and number AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards) AND MUST HAVE SAI Global
Whips must not exceed 110cms in length. Gloves must be worn Jewellery must not be worn.
Soft Face Masks that cover the mouth and nose are permitted, but no face shields are allowed. Nothing is to be attached to the riding hat.

GENERAL:
WITHDRAWING: There will be no refund or entry carry forward for withdrawals received after the close of entries.
LUNGEING: is not permitted.
DOGS: Dogs on a Lead at ALL times at Grove House Farm
CHILDREN: under the age of 14yrs MUST be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Photography of Juniors: Professional and Amateur photographers may attend our competitions, upon entering classes you are deemed to have accepted that photographs may be taken of Juniors and possibly used for publicity purposes.
• Horses/Ponies under 4 years may enter classes as H/C only.
• The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry.
• Anyone displaying symptoms of illness will be asked to leave the venue. Please ensure temperatures of all attending are checked before leaving home
• Distances between horseboxes and trailers minimum of 3m
• The organisers ask that horses/ponies are not left tied to their trailers/lorries whilst unattended.
• Please observe and respect any signs displayed by Grove House Farm or HDRC.
• Strict Social Distancing Rules to be adhered to. Single household support/grooms are welcome but only 1 per horse/pony
• Please clear away and take home any litter or droppings.
• The organisers accept no responsibility for any accident, loss, damage, injury, illness to horse, rider, owner or spectator or to any property whatsoever.
• Riding in collecting ring or practice areas/arenas will comply with current British Dressage Rules
• Once tests are completed Riders are to leave the venue or return to their box or trailer until the next scheduled test is due
Riders are to behave with consideration to their fellow competitors whilst working in and follow the below guidelines: a) Pass left hand to left hand when meeting another rider coming in the opposite direction unless they are in counter canter, when you should give way by circling. b) Make tack adjustments outside the arena if possible, or near the middle of the arena, but without obstructing the diagonal or centre lines. c) To avoid accidents, announce that you intend to enter an indoor practice area. d) Ensure your whip is not so long or used so that it could upset a passing horse. e) Do not halt or walk on the outside track and always leave room for other riders to pass. f) Do not lunge without the permission of the organiser and only if there is sufficient room so as not to cause inconvenience to other riders. g) Trainers or other pedestrians are not to stand in the collecting rings or practice areas/ arenas and must minimise disruption to other riders when helping their client. Only one trainer or groom max per horse/rider combination. Junior riders may have up to 2 household members. h) Riders with impaired vision should wear a white armband whilst warming up as an indication to other riders. i) If a warm-up arena is becoming overcrowded, the organiser/steward may impose a limit on the number of horses allowed in the warm-up arena, giving priority to those closest to performing their test.
