It is with immense disappointment that we are going to have to cancel the Hunter Trial due to be held on Saturday.  

The ONLY reason is due to lack of entries. The ground is superb, grass cover second to none, parking area prepped and the course is numbered ready to go. However, with a day to go until entries close and only a few received in the last 24 hours, despite Facebook posts reaching in excess of 14,000, we are still needing 80 entries to make this fundraiser financially viable. Therefore we must make the tough decision now as it takes just as much time to cancel an event correctly as it does organise. 

To our amazing team of volunteers who exceed 60 people and for those who have been organised and entered in plenty of time we thank you as without you we can not entertain offering this event but sadly there clearly isn’t the desire for it. 

The Lakin family are very generously opening the course on Saturday for schooling over the numbered and flagged courses we had planned, for just £20 per horse. Please contact Amanda directly to book in 07785 776222. We encourage you take this opportunity up as it is only if these local courses are supported that they will continue to offer their wonderful facilities to us for events. 

We will be issuing refunds so please keep an eye out.

First aid fee - £4.00 per rider, please add to your entry fee.
Number bib deposit - please provide £5.00 cash on the day. Anyone using an air jacket must provide own number bib. Please indicate on your entry so we can provide the numbers for your bib.

Class 2 - The Vintage Tack Room cup www.vintagetackroom.com awarded to the winner.
Class 3 - The Shirley Reed trophy to the highest placed Pony Club member in our hunt country – please inform the secretary on the day if you are a PC member. The Charlton Hunt Club cup awarded to the winner.
Class 4 - The Stag Inn Trophy www.staginnballscross.co.uk awarded to the winner.
Class 5 - The Suzanne Garner trophy to the highest placed Pony Club member in our hunt country – please inform the secretary on the day if you are a PC member. The Mardles Perpetual Trophy on behalf of CLCH Hunt Supporters Club awarded to the winner.
Class 6 – The Liphook Equine Hospital trophy awarded to the winner. The Stilemans Cup to the highest placed Hunt Subscriber or Hunt Subscriber’s Horse.

Eland Lodge Qualifiers – top 3 rider in each qualifying class will qualify as long as they have ridden a clear round. If any of the top 3 have already qualified then the qualification card can be passed down.

1. BODY PROTECTORS must be worn in all events. Hats must be of the current standard, according to the rule changes in 2016. If unsure please check at www.bhs.org No fixed peak hats are permitted. Hunt dress or cross country colours are permitted. No cameras may be worn. 2. Horses must not be left unattended tied to trailers or horseboxes. 3. Any competitor in difficulty at a fence MUST make way for a following competitor who is about to overtake. 4. NO entries will be accepted by telephone. 5. REGRETFULLY NO REFUNDS can be made for any reason, except for cancellation of the event.  The £1.50 online booking fee + £5.00 fee to cover administration will be retained. 6. The committee reserves the right to refuse entry without giving a reason, to cancel or alter the classes and times. 7. Horses and ponies can only be ridden once in each class with no more than 2 classes. 8. The judges and secretary’s decision is final in all matters. Any objection must be made in writing within 30 minutes after the results are published and accompanied by a fee of £50.00 cash. Video/photographic evidence will not be allowed. 9. Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers nor the CLCH, nor any employee nor any persons acting on their behalf, accept any liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators or any others persons or cars and contents or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever. 10. ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES. No extendable leads are permitted. 11. There is first aid cover on site to provide pre-hospital treatment during the event if required. All competitors are deemed to confirm by virtue of entering the event, that they are fit to compete and they consent to any treatment which may be given, advised or offered by the first aiders. 12. The winner will be the horse and rider with the least number of jumping faults, nearest the bogey time, based on a fair hunting pace. 13.
