and attend four British Novice Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings for prize money
in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A rules (Rule 191). Horses in the class must go
in to the jump-off and go clear to gain a double clear round qualification.
If combined with an open:
In Category 1 Shows and in the event of 30 starters or more the Open and the British Novice section will be split with
two sets of prize money awarded.

Entry qualifications: Registered horses that have qualified to compete by jumping double clear rounds in at least four
Senior British Novice Championship First Round Competitions in accordance with Rule 316.6 to be ridden by Adult,
Associate or Junior Members. Riders who have ever competed as a team member of any Senior International Team
(4* or 5* Nations Cup in the last 10 years, World, European Championships & Olympic Games) are not eligible.
There will be 12 Second Round competitions (subject to revision). Qualified horses are eligible to enter and compete
in as many Second Rounds as the owner wishes.
Qualifies for: The British Novice Championship at the British Showjumping National Championships.
Numbers to qualify for: One horse with up to 25 starters. Two horses with 26-50 starters. Three horses with 51 or
more starters. Plus those horses that jump clear in all three rounds of a British Novice Second Round competition.
British Showjumping Boots / Leg Protection Ruling applies to this class, in accordance with Rule 102.15. Failure to
comply will incur disqualification.
Rule 290.15 - Pre-Entry Drawn Order
Entries may possibly be accepted before 9.00am providing that the number of entries are less than 60 (with the
exception of County shows). Once entries reach 60 before 9.00am the class will be closed. Any entries taken on the

jump-off, in at least four Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers First Round competitions in any qualifying period,
will qualify to compete in a Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round, irrespective of their placings for
prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A Rules (Rule 191). To obtain a
double clear qualification, even if the horse is the only clear round, it must jump a jump-off round and jump clear to
gain a double clear round.
If combined with an open: In the event of 30 or more starters the class will be split with two sets of prize money.

The organisers and land owners will not be held responsible for any incident or injury to riders, owners, spectators or any person or property whatsoever, however caused. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the promoters against any legal action arising from such incident. All reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure the health and safety of persons present. For these measures to be effective, all persons must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all the officials and stewards. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years, who will be held responsible for their behaviour and welfare. All classes listed in the schedule will be judged in accordance with the current BSJA Rule Book and all classes are confined to horses/ponies registered with the BSJA and must be owned and ridden by members in accordance with Rule 79. Entries will only be accepted with payment – open cheques are acceptable. By making an entry it is acknowledged that riders are taking part in a risk sport and that they are competent to ride at the level of competition that they have entered. No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorized agent or rider, to compete or be prepared to compete, without taking adequate precautions to ensure other embers or the public are not put at risk or injury (Rule 82.21). Stallions are not allowed to compete on the “Ticket to Ride” scheme. Competitors must wear the correct riding clothes including protective head covering. Any person on the showground must wear protective headgear whilst riding. Refunds will only be given in accordance with BSJA rules. Some prize money may be withheld under rule 76.6 Once a horse has been included in a drawn order class, there will be no refunds, amendments, substitutions or alterations. The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry without giving a reason. Rule 164.1 will be applied There will be a surcharge levied or paramedic cover – this will be clearly stated on the entry form.
