Entries close at 1pm on Thursday before each event. No late / text entries will be accepted.

Format for 2019 (changes from 2018 in bold)

The course consists of nine show jumps followed immediately with a simulated cross-country course of 10 jumps within the same arena and finishes with a show jump “joker” fence set up to 10cm higher than the rest of the course. The joker fence is a compulsory fence and must be jumped; failure to jump before passing through the finish will be classed as an error of course. There will be a maximum of 20 jumping efforts in total.

The whole course will be timed, with optimum times set as follows: 70cm – 340mpm; 80/90cm – 360mpm; 100cm and 105/110cm – 375mpm. Penalties will be awarded at 0.4 penalties for every second in excess of the optimum time. Every commenced period of one second in excess of five seconds under the optimum time will be penalised by 0.4 time penalty. Time limit is twice the optimum time. Stop watches are not permitted.

You must wear a correctly fitting and compliant body protector and hat (See BRC rules on current hat and body protector guidelines) and the hat must have a chin strap securely fastened at all times when mounted and have NO fixed peak, eg a skull cap with silk is acceptable. Cross country colours are optional. Hair must be tied up above collar length.

The winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties. In the event of a tie the winner will be the one closest to but under the optimum time. Clear rounds take precedence over jumping faults, ie a rider clear with four time faults would be placed above a rider with four jumping faults.

The course will only be open for inspection at least 30 minutes prior to the event start.

All riders must abide by the rules and terms and conditions of Kennaa Riding Club. The judges’ decision is final.

Penalties

Please remember that for safety arena eventing is about jumping clear in a forward rhythm and not galloping flat out!!!

Please note that to compete at a Kennaa Riding Club event you need to be a paid up member of the Club.

You can only enter two classes per horse/pony.
Entry Fee £12.00 per class
A start fee of £5 per person will be required on the day for medical cover.
