A half day intensive development morning, open to riders competing at all levels with a focus on developing your psychological skills to improve peak performance in competitions. Develop your understanding of what the judge is looking for when you ride your test, why you get the scores you do and how to prepare yourself mentally for your competition day. Over the course of the morning you will take part in:

 ·         “From Warm Up to Test” – Being excellent at your level through maximising your performance potential.

A classroom session with Professor Moira Lafferty - Moira is a chartered psychologist, associate fellow of the British Psychological Society and an HCPC registered sport and exercise psychologist.  Her research interests in sport and exercise psychology centre specifically on the role of psychological skills in peak performance. Moira has worked with all levels of riders from grassroots through to National, International and European level.

·     A session with List 1 judge, UKCC level 3 coach and Grand Prix rider Felicity Scott. Felicity has over forty years’ experience of competing nationally in music championships and is renowned for her innovative floor plans - What exactly are judges looking for, where to find those extra marks, how to ‘please’ the judges – a discussion and ‘judging’ session using video and ridden demonstrations. 

The morning will cost £45.00 per non-rider to include a buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Strictly limited to only 6 places, the non rider places are for anyone wanting to come to the morning sessions with Moira and Felicity but not the afternoon ridden session.
