A one day intensive development camp, open to all riders competing at all levels with a focus on developing your psychological skills to improve peak performance in competitions. Develop your understanding of what the judge is looking for when you ride your test, why you get the scores you do and how to prepare yourself mentally for your competition day. Over the course of the day you will take part in:

 ·         “From Warm Up to Test” – Being excellent at your level through maximising your performance potential.

A classroom session with Professor Moira Lafferty - Moira is a chartered psychologist, associate fellow of the British Psychological Society and an HCPC registered sport and exercise psychologist.  Her research interests in sport and exercise psychology centre specifically on the role of psychological skills in peak performance. Moira has worked with all levels of riders from grassroots through to National, International and European level.

·         A classroom session with List 1 judge, UKCC level 3 coach and Grand Prix rider Felicity Scott. Felicity has over forty years’ experience of competing nationally in music championships and is renowned for her innovative floor plans - What exactly are judges looking for, where to find those extra marks, how to ‘please’ the judges – a discussion and ‘judging’ session using video and ridden demonstrations.

·         Ride a 20 x 60 long arena test of your choice under full competition conditions with Felicity.

·         A one to one post-test video analysis feedback session with Jo Swain BD UKCC level 4 coach, List 5 judge, BD Youth assessor, judge and Para Coach and Prof.  Moira Lafferty.

 ·         Dengie Horse Feeds will be here with goodie bags, feed advice and to weigh your horse.

 ·         Followed by an end of day informal feedback and reflection session with the team.

The day will cost £95.00 per rider to include day stables, bedding, a buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Strictly limited to only 14 places. There will also be six non rider places for anyone wanting to come to the morning session with Moira and Felicity. This will be £45.00 including lunch.
