Open to any horse/pony and rider combination that has not won a Hunter Trials or Horse Trials at 65cm or above. The HAC Saddle Club Challenge Cup will be presented to the highest placed member of the Surrey Union or Chiddingfold Farmers Pony Club.

The time taken by the last member of the pair to finish will be the time taken for scoring purposes. There will be a bogey time based on a fair hunting pace. No dressing fences for this class

There will be one or two dressing fences where marks will be awarded on how well the pair approach and take the fence. Dressing fences may not be disclosed before but will be wide enough to accommodate two horses/ponies jumping side by side. The time taken by the last member of the team to finish will be the time taken into account for scoring purposes. In the event of a tie on marks and style, time will be the deciding factor.

Fences for classes 3 – 6 will be as for the British Eventing event on 23/24 March. Brush fences may be slightly bigger (as per BE rules) but will be brushable through
METHOD OF JUDGING
To be judged on faults accrued and a bogey time, which will not be revealed but will be based on a fair hunting pace. Riders must leave all Red Flags on their right and White Flags on their left. Outside assistance is not permitted whether solicited or not and will be penalised by elimination.
Penalties will be allocated for refusals, disobedience and falls. In the event of a tie, Classes 1, 4, 5 and 6 will be judged on the competitor nearest to the bogey time.
Style will not be taken into account except for Classes 2 & 3 (Pairs).
PENALTIES WILL BE ALLOCATED AS UNDER:
First refusal, run-out or circle: 20 points
Second refusal, run-out or circle at same obstacle: 40 points
Third refusal, run-out or circle at same obstacle: ELIMINATION
Five accumulated refusals over the course: ELIMINATION
Fall of horse and rider when attempting an obstacle: ELIMINATION
Fall of rider 60 points
Second fall of rider ELIMINATION
Error of course not rectified: ELIMINATION
For exceeding the time limit, which is twice time allowed: ELIMINATION

CLEAR ROUND SHOW JUMPING (weather/ground permitting)
£5 PER ROUND. PAY ON THE DAY AT THE RINGSIDE. Starting at 60cm and being raised throughout the day in line with the hunter trials classes.
1. Body Protectors and Hard Hats to the current BSI standard must be worn by all riders at all times when mounted. Medical armbands are recommended.
2. Any competitor eliminated may continue but must make way for following competitors. Only 3 attempts at any one fence. The jump judges reserve the right to ask you to leave the course if they feel it is appropriate.
3. Any competitor in difficulty at a fence must make way for a following competitor who is about to overtake.
4. Numbers are to be collected from the Secretary on the day. £10.00 cash deposit per horse. Money will be refunded on return of number.
5. Regretfully, NO REFUNDS can be made for any reason whatsoever, except for cancellation or postponement of event when entry fees will be returned on receipt of a SAE less £3.00 per horse for administrative costs. SAE must be received within ten days of cancellation or postponement. SUBSTITUTIONS will only be accepted if horses are in the same ownership and must be advised to the Secretary. Entries are not transferable.
6. The Committee reserve the right to refuse entry without giving a reason, and to cancel or alter classes or times.
7. The Committee’s decision is final in all matters. Any objection must be made in writing within 15 minutes after publishing results accompanied by a fee of £20.00.
8. The Organisers and Munstead Horse Trials/ Heath Farm do not hold themselves responsible for anything that may happen to competitors, onlookers, spectators, their property or horses in connection with or arising out of this event. It shall be a condition that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the Organisers against any legal action arising from any incident or accident.
9. ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A SHORT LEAD.
10. Horses/ponies may not compete in more than 2 classes. Only competing horses or ponies allowed in the grounds (unless permission has been granted by Mr and Mrs Harvie)
11. Health & Safety Regulations
The Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present according to the guidelines under law. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and all the officials and stewards.
