Special Classes
NEW for 2018 – Thanks to the fabulous sponsorship from Mercers Solicitors, we are able to run the “Mercers Dressage Challenge Cup”! Open to all competitors, points will be accumulated at the three indoor dressage competitions in February March and April, and at the final show, a Series Champion will be named at each level (Intro, Prelim, Novice and Ele/Medium). Champions and reserve champions at each of the levels will receive sashes and commemorative rosettes, and all winners at each level will also win some excellent prizes!

Terms & Conditions
Is an Affiliated Riding Club and all competitions are run under British Riding Club Rules. Please note that these rules may differ from British Dressage, BSJA or British Eventing Rules in some instances.
Where a specific situation is not covered by Riding Club rules the official rules for British Dressage, BSJA or British Eventing shall apply.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO TVRC EVENTS
1. The judge’s decision is final. 2. All ridden horses / ponies must be over 4 years of age or over. 3. Correct riding attire for each discipline must be worn. Hats must be worn, correctly fastened when mounted and be to a basic standard of PAS015, BSEN1384 or ASTMF1163, riders are responsible for their own safety. 4. Entries may be refused. All rights of entry are reserved. 5. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Those with dogs not on leads will be asked to leave the venue immediately. 6. It is the responsibility of competitors to know the rules - our stewards and officials are there to help and advise, please remember all our stewards are volunteers. 7. Save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom in law they are responsible, neither the organisers of these events nor BCA, any agent, employee or representative to these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or any other way whatsoever. 8. Every effort will be made to run classes to schedule, however, the organisers reserve the right to cancel or amend classes. 9. Any change of horse or rider must be notified to the Secretary at least 15 minutes before the start of the class. 10. There must be no mucking out of trailers or lorries onto the ground. All muck and loose hay / straw must be gathered up and taken home. If parking on grass, do not allow your animals to graze as it is usually our hosts grazing. 11. Photographers are in attendance – please let the organiser know if you are not happy to have your picture taken and possibly displayed on the TVRC / photographers website. 12. In the event of the cancellation of an event, an administration fee will be withheld from the entry fee.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
The Organisers of TVRC events have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions all officials, stewards and organisers. Any accident, however small must be reported and recorded at the Secretary’s office.

TVRC - ROR Riding Club Challenge 2018
Eligibility: For horses with an RoR number only – Registration is FREE and can be completed at www.ror.org.uk – registration number is required with entry. Please remember that unraced and foreign raced horses are eligible to receive an RoR number. An RoR Riding Club Challenge Rosette will be awarded to the horse and rider (member or non-member of the club) combination scoring the most points on the day – points are awarded for class placing and participation An RoR trophy will be awarded at the end of 2016 to the Thames Valley Riding Club member with an ex racehorse (RoR Registered) accruing the most points at a TVRC Riding Club Show/events in 2016 as listed below.
1. To be eligible your horse must have an RoR number. This number must be placed on your entry form 2. Each Class entered will earn 1 point. 3. Placings in the class will earn points as follows – 1st = 7 points scaling down to 7th= 1 point 4. The winner of the RoR RCC Challenge Rosette will be the horse and rider accruing the most points on the show day; we will endeavour to announce the results on the day of the show; if the show is exceptionally busy then the result will be announced asap and the rosette will be posted to the winner if necessary 5. Points will only be awarded if you are RoR registered on the day of the show, and points cannot be awarded retrospectively. 6. In the event of all eligible competitors being unplaced in a class then the points will be awarded as follows Show Jumping – least faults in the quickest time will gain 7pts, the other points being awarded in a similar fashion. Dressage – the highest % will be given 7pts, the other points being awarded in a similar fashion. Collective marks will be used if required to arrange placings

MERCERS CHALLENGE CUP
New for 2018! Across the three dressage competitions, all competitors (members and non-members) will accrue points based upon placings at each level of competition (Intro, Prelim, Novice and Elementary/Medium). At the final show in April, a champion and reserve champion at each level will be announced and presentations will be made of sashes, commemorative rosettes and prizes. Rules are as follows: • Points are awarded to each combination – riders may compete with more than one horse but each will accrue points separately • Points are awarded as follows: o 1st Place = 10 points o 2nd Place = 8 points o 3rd Place = 6 points o 4th Place = 4 points o 5th Place = 2 points o 6th Place = 1 point • Competitors may compete at different levels through the series but points cannot be transferred between levels • Competitors MUST attend the final show even if not competing in order to be named champion/reserve champion and be present at the mounted prize giving – timings for each will be given with times for that competition. • In the event of a tie, the highest single percentage score of the riders will be used to decide the winner. Presented by Liz Kohl and Catherine Ingham in memory of their wonderful horse ‘Max’. Awarded annually to the TVRC Member and horse combination accruing the highest points total across the three indoor dressage competitions.

CHILTERN AND THAMES RIDER CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018
Championship show now running on 24th/25th March 2018. GREAT MIDLANDS SHOW 2018
The Great Midland Horse Show will be held at Onley Grounds Equestrian Complex on Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th September 2018. Qualification cards are given out for the following Dressage 60%+ in intro up to medium. Further information can be found at http://www.greatmidlandshorseshow.com/
