Any competitor or pony not registered with British Showjumping must compete on a ticket to ride and may be eligible to qualify for the Final. In such a case riders will not be awarded prize money but will receive a Pony Club rosette, should they win the class. The winner of each competition will qualify for the final at Olympia (subject to eligibility) and following the completion of the final qualifying competition 1st August a further 2 competitors will be invited to compete at Olympia. This selection criteria, carried out by The Pony Club Chairman of Showjumping, will be based on the results in the qualifiers and the home address of members who featured in the lineups and is designed to ensure that at least one member from Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England is chosen to take part at Olympia. The selection decisions of the Chairman of Showjumping are final and no correspondence will be entered into after the 8 successful members have been announced. In all cases where the qualified member is unable to compete at Olympia, qualification will pass down the line to the next eligible member (eligibility criteria will include home address). Any rider who has taken part in The Pony Club Mini-Major at Olympia in previous years is not eligible. In order to qualify for the Mini-Major the rider must have paid their Pony Club membership fee in full by 28th February in the current year and must have attended 3 branch rallies between 1st July 2017 and the date of the qualifying competition. (Team training does not count as a rally, see the Pony Club Yearbook for further information). An application form will be sent by The Pony Club to each rider provisionally selected for Olympia. Before selection can be confirmed, this form must be completed and returned by a parent or guardian and signed by the DC of the member’s branch. Amongst the information requested on the form will be full details and dates of the rallies attended by the member. There are specific dress and conduct rules which the Olympia London International Horse Show set for the Mini-Major and these must be complied with. Details will be sent to the selected members.
