Senior riders should be turning 17 years old or older in the current year. Stallions are not permitted to jump in any Club classes. Qualifying period: 1st July 2017 to 30th June 2018 Numbers to qualify: The Top 20 from each of the four height category league tables, will qualify for the National Club Championships held at the British Showjumping National Championships. Club registered horse(or pony)/rider combinations are eligible to qualify and in more than one height category. Points 1st = 12, 2nd = 10, 3rd = 8, 4th = 6, 5th = 4, 6th = 3. Double Clear Points = 3. Points are allocated depending on the number of starters; every one in five starters is eligible for points. If you gain a double clear you will receive three points regardless of starters. If a combination competes in more than two consecutive height classes per show day only the points from the bigger classes will be graded

Rule - 76.6 For registered horses in Grade C not to have won a total of 125 points to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members. Qualifies for: KBIS Insurance British Novice Championship - Second Round. Qualifying period yearly 1st May - 30th April inclusive. Numbers to qualify: Those horses which jump a clear round in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off, in at least four KBIS Insurance British Novice First Round competitions held in any qualifying period will qualify to compete in and attend four KBIS Insurance British Novice Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A rules (Rule 191). Horses in the class must go in to the jump-off and go clear to gain a double clear round qualification. The winner of a particular KBIS Insurance British Novice competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition. If combined with an open: In Category 1 Shows, in the event of 30 starters or more, the class will be split with two sets of prize money awarded. Horses will be eligible for double clear qualification to attend second rounds providing they reach the age of seven years or under in the same calendar year as the Foxhunter Final - in accordance with rule 310.6 Four double clears will qualify. Four Double clears will qualify for the Senior Foxhunter Second Rounds. Qualifying period: 1st June-31st May inclusive. Those horses that have qualified for the Senior Foxhunter Championship in 2017 are not eligible for qualification to the 2018 Championship. Terms & Conditions
Entries in all affiliated classes are confined to horses registered with the British Showjumping rule 79.
No responsibility will be accepted by the organisers for anything that may happen to competitors, onlookers or their property, servants or anyone in connection with the event. It shall be considered a condition of entry that each entrant agrees to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising thereto.
The expense of any veterinary services rendered either on or after the show must be born by the competitor or owner of stock.
The decision of the judges is final.
If any person wishes to lodge a complaint, this must be done within 30 minutes of the incident along with a deposit of £100 cash (which will be returned if the complaint is upheld).
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry, amend the details of the schedule should it become necessary with prior permission from British Showjumping, or to cancel any class with insufficient entries.
In accordance with British Showjumping rule 82.20, no member shall allow a stallions for which he/she is responsible as owner, leesee, authorised agent or rider to compete (or being prepared to compete) without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk.
In the event of insufficient starters, British Showjumping rule 76.6 will apply.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and must be cleaned up after!
British Showjumping membership cards must be presented at the time of entry.
British Showjumping tickets to ride are available at a cost of £6 each
Prize money will not be paid until payment has been received for entry and must be collected on the day. Any prize money not collected will be forfeited.
Children must not be left on the premises unattended.
If you are competingr and have travelled alone, you must notify the Secretary and leave contact details in case of emergency.
Horse and Ponies must not be left tied to the trailer/Horsebox unattended.
Rule 164.1a will be applied (45 second countdown will be in operation)
All competitors should make sure that when at the event they are carrying a valid passport for their horse (For Identification)
Any point not covered may be referred to the secretary, whose decision is final.
Medical cover to be in accordance with rule 73.8e

Horse riding is a dangerous sport and you participate at MPEC your own risk and without any reliance on MPEC, its owners, servants or agents for the safety of yourself or your property. Due care has been taken to maintain the facilities in a safe condition, but riders must observe the following terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions for MPEC’s use of facilities and competitions:
1. The organizers reserve the right to cancel or amend any competitions or classes in any way.
2. A ‘Riding Hat’ designed to provide protection, must be worn at all times by anyone whether or not a participant or competitor, riding anywhere at the Mendip Plains EC site. Hats must reach at least one of the following standards: All PAS 015: 1998, BS EN1384: 1997 – Provided that they are BSI Kitemarked or SEI. Snell E2001 plus Snell Label with chin strap fastened so as to prevent movement
3. Bodyprotectors - a British Equestrian trade association (BEta) approved and appropriately labelled Level 3 body protector, manufactured in the year 2000 or after, is mandatory for Cross Country and whenever else a body protector is required to be worn.
4. For all competitions, the Judges decision is final. At all times, all competitors and other visitors to MPEC must ad hear to all instructions provided by stewards.
5. All persons under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
6. All rubbish must be disposed of in the bins provided. Lorries/ trailers are not to be skipped out onto the car park.
7. No horse/pony is to be left unattended unless secured in a lorry or trailer attached to a vehicle.
8. Dogs are welcome on site but must be kept on a lead at all times. Waste is to be disposed of in the bins provided.
9. At MPEC no smoking is permitted inside any of the buildings.
10. Any facilities that are damaged or seen to be damaged must be reported to the office and paid for.
11. All accidents must be reported and an accident report completed at the MPEC office.
12. In all competitions the Judges decision shall be final.
13. There may be photography or filming going on at our competitions and it is your responsibility to let us know if you do not want to be photographed or filmed whilst at our event.
