Rule 316. First place rosette kindly sponsored by KBIS Insurance Horses / ponies may only compete in one section. In the event of insufficient entries lower prizes may be withheld. Rule - 76.6 Entry qualifications: to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members. British Novice: Entry qualifications: to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members. a) For Horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 125 points. Four Double Clears will qualify - in accordance with Rule 316.6. b) For all horses born on or after 1 January 2014 irrespective of points. Horses will only be eligible for double clear qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of four years or under in the same calendar year as the British Novice Final - in accordance with Rule 316.6 Qualifies for: KBIS Insurance British Novice Championship - Second Round. Qualifying period yearly 1st May - 30th April inclusive. Numbers to qualify: Those horses which jump a clear round in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off, in at least four KBIS Insurance British Novice First Round competitions held in any qualifying period will qualify to compete in and attend four KBIS Insurance British Novice Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A rules (Rule 191). Horses in the class must go in to the jump-off and go clear to gain a double clear round qualification. The winner of a particular KBIS Insurance British Novice competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition. If combined with an open: In Category 1 Shows and in the event of 30 starters or more the Open and the British Novice section will be split with two sets of prize money awarded. In Category 2 Shows the sections must always be split with two sets of prize money awarded, irrespective of starters.

The first 8 horses qualify for the final, held at the Blue Chip Winter Championships. Qualification does not pass down the line. Qualifiers must jump clear in the first round. There will be dual qualification of double clears for the Senior Newcomers first round. (Age rule applies) Please note that in accordance with the amendment to BS Rule 312 all 6yr old horses are now eligible regardless of points won, but the horse must be 6yrs old in the year of the Final ie 2018 to be able to compete in the Championship. Therefore any horses which are currently 6yrs old and have won more than 375 points are unable to qualify in any qualifiers held from 1st October 2017 to 31st December 2017. Qualification does not pass down the line. Riders who qualify must submit their details at www.bluechipchamps.co.uk to register their qualification.
